        • More spreading of chippings today. Tree surgeons finished removing our mini forest and delivered last of chippings to the lotty. While there I mentioned that the felt had come off the roof of my larger shed during the high winds and I had some metal roof sheets that I'd intended to fit, but can't now cos of my shoulder. They agreed to fix them down for me inclusive of the price they've charged for tree clearance
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

          • Had a re-jig of greenhouse adding some more staging type things, sorted and stacking pots..how many!
General tidy and then sowed some radish bright lights , delighted that my first ever sowings have all germinated . Also sowed some cosmos sensation. Wanted to do more but better walk the dog, she keeps following me around the garden trying to hurry me on.

              • Looking good, Deano!

So, the mother of all headaches banished, and on returning from a lovely lunchtime meal with inlaws, still had time (and decent sunny weather!!) to take the plunge and ...... planted out onion sets Jet Set and Sturon, also the 'spring' garlic Solent Wight .... Boy oh boy do I feel nervous now ...!!!

                I feel jittery about:
                Impending frost
                Roaming slugs
Big fat wood pigeons which were eyeing my every move this afternoon
                Hungry bunnies

And I didn't think about getting something to use to cloche

                        • Check on the progress of some of the veg to see how it coped with the wild temperature fluctuations of last week....happy with what I found and nice to see things turning green

Put the main frames up for the climbing beans and spent an age with the hoe.

                            • Twilight shift on the plot.... planted out some strawbs, weeded and tidied. Then sat in the faint pattering of rain eating a kitkat and listening to the dusk chorus.
