    • Potted on loads of veg thats sat in the conservatory, and fretted over what Im supposed to do with them when I go away next weekend for a week!
Popped to the plot this morning & put in some leeks and PSB thats been sat in the blowaway. Tidied up the bonfire pile that was mostly soil sods. Started deweeding a bed that was clear last week, little buggers have gone rampant in a week!

I'm growing my first this year as I've heard it tastes fantastic!

Today I didn't do much Pottered about on the plot for about an hour....moved a few things into the polytunnel where it was less hot, sowed some Salvia flower seeds, measured my beds so I can work out how many seeds to sow....and spent ten minutes watching bees on the comfrey patch. I'm rapidly becoming obsessed with bees and saw my first Hairy-footed Flower Bees today

                  Or the pigeons

My savoy cabbage did great last year until I forgot to put the netting back one day. Next morning a few leaves had been pecked and the butterflies obviously got in too as I found caterpillars a few weeks later

I've now got a rabbit getting onto the patch so I'm going to have to find out HOW he's getting in before I plant out my brassica seedlings!

                  • Beans Frame Up

Sowed my parsnips. Unfortunately space allows only 3 rows only with 12 plants but hopefully next year should have more space. Also put my beans frame and the nets ready for planting when the frost is gone. Also moved my early potatoes from my home to the allotment greenhouse. Feeling ready to start planting soon.

                    • This weekend, I turned a topsoil spoil heap (from digging out a foundation for the shed) into a raised bed. (Worked out that it would probably cost more to dispose of the topsoil at the tip than it would to buy the wood needed to make the raised bed). Bought a potted rhubarb (Timperley early) and planted it in said raised bed! I know it may be a bit late for planting rhubarb, but thought it was worth a go!
Sowed some mixed leaves, radish and flowers in there too. Now just need my strawberry runners to arrive and that's the bed planted!

                          • I finally, finally planted my onions sets — and had a heap left over, so I stuck 'em in modules to fill any spaces later. I also put together my new walk-in blowaway (which hopefully won't blow away thanks to all the breeze blocks I placed on the base!), so now I can finally make some room on my overcrowded windowsills. Yay!

It's so gorgeously sunny here at the moment, so I feel like I'm really slacking if I'm not out in the garden every spare moment.

                            • Bought a mower and a garden arch, sowed a climbing yellow courgette, filled the loo roll tubes and sowed sunflowers.

                              • Off work this week so I am determined to make progress building my summerhouse.

There was snow, sunshine .hail, wind, sunshine and sleet in equal proportions throughout the day. I persevered through it though and was very satisfied with the progress I made.
I now have the basic framework up and its all tied together giving it a bit of rigidity. Tomorrow I will try and put the remaining back panels into position and cut and position the roof joists. Once thats all tied into position I can add the three large glass panels to the front and one to the end, although I don't think I'll get that far tomorrow.
