Not going to get a lot done today. There's snow on the ground this morning can you believe. The weather looks rubbish for the rest of the day as well.

Went to GH to apologise to all present about the cold overnight temperatures again. It was a tumbleweed moment ....

This morning I did some composting - in my two new bins I layered up all the 'ingredients' I've been hoarding over the past few months - chicken manure, cardboard, kitchen scraps, Xmas tree clippings, spent brassicas (stems chopped and pummelled), woodchip, and plenty of fresh grass clippings to get it going... then gave it all a good stir. The plot looks so much tidier! My hands were numb with cold despite two pairs of gloves, there was thick ice on top of the cold frame...He-Pep!

Bario1 hope you've thawed out with a nice hot brew?!?! Job well done though.
My quest for cheapo plant pots was thwarted at B&M .... Not any in sight, however I did buy:
Fleece
Fleece pegs
3metre grow tunnel
Tomato feed
Plant clips
.... sure it'll all come in useful ....
Off to work now folks, have a pleasant afternoon~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need

Just finished sealing one end of the greenhouse gutter in readiness for the water butt delivery, the other end is fitted with hose in situ. Filled about 30 foot of guttering with compost ready for when the flowers are hard enough. May go down & lay a few more sheets of Parsnips.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Today I potted on some peppers (chilli and sweet) and cucumbers (outdoor and greenhouse). All are still sitting on the heated propagator in the greenhouse to keep them toasty at night until spring finally gets here.

Planted a couple of horseradish up in sacks (no idea how it will turn out, there seem to be split results for peeps)
Planted out various onions - perennials and annual seedlings
Planted out some sweet peas.
Sunk some pot plants in the patch so they don't invade or dry out too much.
Mulched a couple of beds.
Planted out some mange-tout and broad beans

I'm impressed you've all managed to get outside - theres been no more than 2 minute intervals between snow hail and rain here!!
I have given everything a good water, feed and rotate as applicable, done some re-potting and sowed some mini pop corn in loo roll tubes

Got over the plot at 7:30 this morning - it was cold but sunny! Put the the final two rows of spuds. Ive got three spuds left over, so they will go in a bag. Covered over the cleared ground with membrane - im going away for a week & I dont want those weeds taking hold.
Im debating whether to put some more onion sets in, the last lot were left too long & have gone squidgy. They reckon onions are going to increase in price by 60% this year, due to the weather.

Did, 'not a lot' at the allotment this afternoon. Fixed a couple of panels to my Summerhouse but rain, sleet and snow gradually got the better of me so I made a sharp exit!
Hopefully weather might be a bit better tomorrow and give me some much needed inspiration! My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Just did a bit of pottering today due to the elements. Managed to lay some Parsnip, Carrot, Turnip, Red & Green Lettuce, Radish, Spring Onion & Beetroot seed sheets. Took delivery of a water butt which is now attached to the greenhouse gutter.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”
