At work this morning I get a tearful phone call from the better lady, the boy has been sick, blood, lots, and the GP has referred him to the hospital, we have to get him there ASAP..
Drive home, collect woman and boy, head back, passed my work to hospital, it was quiet, this was good.
Seen within an hour of arrival, the doc thinks boy has had a nosebleed and swallowed the blood, then its made him sick... hmmmm!?.. possible I suppose, but unlikely that he's had a nosebleed and none had come out of his nose!?
Anyway, doc wants his boss to take a look, turns out his boss is a very busy man, two hours busy!
More experienced doc believes that boys stomach has been irritated by antibiotics last week when boy had his first ever ear infection... yeah, new medicine, he's never had it, you never know!?
although doc isn't 100%, so doc orders basic blood tests to rule out anaemia and internal bleeding.
this was quick, and all fine, so now he needs some medicine to settle his tummy.. all we need is someone to sort the prescription... may the wait begin!
Several hours pass..
Finally, they sort the prescription.
made necessary phone calls to schools, and friends to sort the other rugrats out, because, although we arrived at the hospital just after 9am..it was now coming up to 3pm..
We leave the hospital, boy, having not eaten at all, now very hungry, demands food..he devours his lunch, then just a couple of hours later also his tea, along with a couple of glasses of water...and he hasn't been sick since the journey to hospital.
Little bugger.
I don't blame the hospital staff, they were all great, its just the really drawn out waiting for specific people who have to do specific things..
On a more positive note, I did sow some Hungarian hot wax and Magnum habenero chilli seeds!
Glad the wee man is ok (((HUGS))) I often think it would be quicker (to be seen AND get the results!) if we went to the vet
Last year hubby needed blood tests which took three weeks to come back. Old cat Hattie needed blood tests for her thyroid and heart issues last summer - result back in 20 minutes!!!
Did a bit of a recce of the plot! Yeah a lot to do in readiness of the new season! But we are still in January! Daffs are up! Rhubarb romping away! What's going on!
But waiting in anticipation of the "Grow Light" tomorrow! Pots in the back of the car ready for washing!
I'm sitting on my hands no longer!
Oh! Trip! "Plant Room"?
Enlighten me please!

Spent the day putting new wind deflectors up ie 6 new 4x3 6ft posts which I'm gunna stretch new netting between them which will protect the greenhouses and the polytunnel. When it finally gets built.
When you have a hammer in your hand everything around you starts looking like a nail.
Spent all morning deadheading and tidying up the primroses and cyclamen that I acquired yesterday. Lots of buds on the primroses but the cyclamen are finished so I'll plant them out soon and hope for great things next year
Got paid today so got two bags of seed compost in readiness for starting my sowing in February and also popped in to Wilkos and got four rolls of weed suppressant membrane....those darned weeds ain't gonna have me pulling my hair out in frustration THIS year!!!
