          Jobs on the plot today....

Sowed 15 Flyaway F1 carrots in a 9'' bucket for the Carrot Challenge

Potted up 6 Crocosmia 'Lucifer' in two large pots (3 corms per pot) to get them started off and ready for the flower bed in a few weeks' time.

Potted up the following plug plants from Wilko

          6 x Fuchsia 'Dollar Princess'
6 x Fuchsia 'Sir Matt Busby'
          6 x Fuchsia 'Patio Princess'
12 x Trailing Geranium 'summer rain mixed'

Also got another nine Dahlia tubers to pot up tomorrow....just didn't have time today as I suddenly realised it was 2pm and I had to cook a chicken for Neil's tea!

Getting to be a bit of a squeeze now!

          • Ive worked my bleedin' @rse off today!
Went and got a load of topsoil from the local nursery, along with a couple of bags of john innes no3, loaded them into the car.
Came home and a load of housework whilst it rained.
Went to the plot and attemped a bonfire. They arent my forte.
Dug up the last of the wild raspberry canes, along with all the rotten wood edging. Raked up all the dead grass, weeds etc where i want the new path to go. Laid the metre wide membrane for said path, only got half-way up though as the fence is being held up by two supports and i didnt want to move it on my own. Then shovelled, barrowed and raked 10 loads of wood chippings for the path. It looks a lot tidier, but no doubt my OH will moan that ive not done it right.
Oh, then unloaded the topsoil from the car, along with the two patio fruit trees i took over there, with the intention of potting up.

                • Dug the last remaining beds and had a bit of a tidy up, used a sulphur candle in the plot greenhouse and then went to Q&B and treated myself to a new hoe.

                  • Planted a Deutzia, a Blue Berry and a Forsythia in my retirement property. I know that blueberries like ericacious soil and I have Rhododendrons and Azealias that seem to thrive so I would guess its acid.
Was fitting radiators in side the house for the rest of the day, so I'm knackered.
An easy day at the allotment is called for tomorrow. Woodburner lit I'll and have a seed sowing fest!

                        • Potted on the first of my tomato seedlings. John Hawkins which seem to be growing so fast.
Did lots of weeding, tidying and other bits and pieces in the garden that needed attention.

                          • Was on early shift at work (5.30am until 8.30am so up at 4am... must be mad!!!) and once I'd finished the plan was to whizz through any housework then settle down with my list of plants I'm growing and work out final raised bed plan, where the raspberries etc were going and make a start on drawing out my herbaceous border. The forecast WAS supposed to be yucky today with rain and snow showers.

At 10am the sun came out and it was FAR too nice to stay indoors So I popped up the allotment and made a start on my fruit bed! Before and after pics below.....and I'm now ready for a nice hot bath!!!

                            • Went to allotment, was cold, but sunny.

Emptied second compost bin, not really decomposed, but chucked the larger woody bits over the fence! And put the rest on a bed.
