I've done absolutely nothing since Saturday, mainly cos I'm sat up the hospital with my sister while she has a baby!

Sowed a seed tray of Petunias plus a tray of Busy Lizzies. Both now in the hot bed.
Cleared an old strawberry patch & topped up 3 beds.
Marked said 3 beds for SFG.
Emptied 10 flower buckets of overwintered spuds & decanted the compost onto a bed.
Rain stopped play so may just have to sow some seeds.............sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Not a lot! Forgot to take my screwdrivers to the allotment so had to make do with pulling plaster boards off the hut I'm demolishing.
Watered the plants in the greenhouse.
Note to self, must dig up and relocate the strawberry plants to my new plot from the one I am giving up.
So much to do, so little time to do it!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Dug out a trench of previously unused ground just under the decking area. Had to dig down deep as the soil is subsoil.
Filled it all up with the soil from the black buckets I used last year for my tomatoes.
Of course, the minute I finished it had to be covered with wire before the cat got there.
I will be planting my Sweetpeas there in a few weeks.
Started hardening off my Sweetpeas yesterday. Putting them out for a few hours daily.I never had such healthy plants so I am hoping for a good show this year.

And your hands begin to harden.

This morning I pruned back the enormous redcurrant bush I've inherited - took about 50% of it away. I don't know what I'm going to do with redcurrants anyway, but I haven't got the heart to dig it out. I also dug/yanked out the network of nasty yellow nettle roots that had established underneath it, along with a load of docks, and something else that looks like carrot tops, but with a big taproot like a dock? Then i mulched it with compost - i might add some manure, then cardboard, then woodchip on top.He-Pep!

Today I accepted delivery for a pallet of MPC and 3 bags of manure, a small heated propagator, two large unheated ones, and a seed sowing trayForgive me for my pages of text.

Had a day off today due to adverse weather conditions so decided to have a bit of retail therapy.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

Had a quick peep at the propagator on the kitchen windowsill and my pea seeds are up. It also looks like the tomatoes are starting to come through. I also sowed some 3" pots with the freebie sweetpeas from gardeners world mag. Later tonight im going to sow some thyme.
I was going to try to get over the allotment for an hour or so today, but that didnt happen. Oh well, its nearly the weekend!

Beautiful day. Temp got up to 12deg.
Had a long walk this morning and after lunch decided to open the first few drills for my potatoes.
Got two done and then put some well rotted seaweed in the drills
Covered the lot over with black plastic.
I will do the rest tomorrow.
Had to stop due to shoulder aching, but I am delighted with all I got done today.

Spent the morning splitting a mountain of logs. Just when you see the light at the end of the tunnel, the lads turn up with a couple of tons of chippings. Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow...........sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”
