  • Well VC, you can always put thrm on The Stena Line and I will pick them up at Dublin Port.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Had a lovely sunny day at the allotment.
Planted out some broad beans I had overwintered in the greenhouse.
finished preparing my new asparagus bed
started to dig over my pumpkin patch
Noticed lots of bees around for the first time this year.

        • I had planned to get a bit of pottering done today but husband had me doing housework instead! It was after 2pm by the time I escaped to the allotment to check over anything in the greenhouse (couple of sweet peas from Gardeners World magazine have germinated) and water inside stuff. Neil wasn't feeling too well (allergic to fresh air?) so after just ten minutes (!!!!!!!) we had to lock up and return home

But not before Neil made a wee repair to my fence next to the gate - I've had an early visit from the Easter Bunny!!! Little shi...fluffy darling has nipped off most of the flowers on my wallflowers!!!! Not Amused!!! Neil reckoned it was the neighbour's racing pigeons but I found tracks in the soil, a couple of areas dug AND some bunny poo! Little monkey!!! Found the tiny gap in the fence where he must have got through so that has had a bit of wire hammered in place. Just as well this happened BEFORE I planted out all my baby veggie plants!

            Well spotted Snadge
Its one of those flat "donut" peaches, bought at the end of last year. Hoping for at least one or two peaches - just to see what they're like.

Wall flowers are brassicas so I can understand the bunny enjoying them!

                • I never knew that (about them being brassicas) - the main part of the plant is ok = it's just the flowers the little monster has nibbled off.....and left lying!!!! Not eaten!!!! If he does it again he's gonna have a very sore fluffy bum!!!

                          • Spent the afternoon mixing up Aberdeen Plotters mixture for onions from seed.
Potted them on into,4inch pots. I have 15 Kelsae onions. A long way to go but so far, so good.

                            • Couple of hours on the plot today and first job was to nail a loose plank back onto the gate - it fell off months ago and I think that's how the Easter Bunny got in to eat my wallflowers! Got to get him blocked out before I start filling the allotment full of LOTS of edibles!

Potted up 16 dahlias in pots.

Mmmm felt like I did loads but when I type it down it looks like nowt!

Short shift at work this weekend so lots more gardening to be done
