Some serious plant juggling went on today. Followed by pricking out, potting on and seed sowing.

Today is a tropical day - re pot orange, lemon and lime trees mainly to get rid of the huge amount of gravel the OH put in the bottom of the planters because between 2 of us we can hardly lift them. They will them spend the next few weeks in the living room hogging the radiator.
Then there is my pride and joy - the pineapple. It started life as a 49p fruit from Haldi's and after alot of faffing about has gone from a small spikey ugly duckling towards a beautiful and much larger plant.
Trouble is it shares the bathroom with us which is not ideal so it too will be recieving a re pot.
Pot 2 for radish, 4 carnations, 2 lemon thymes (all plants yellow stickered at Bee and Q) and last but not least 4 20p primroses.Last edited by Lumpy; 27-03-2016, 10:00 AM.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

This morning I've been try to fix the zip on my new growhouse cover which has burst after just 2 weeks. Also there's a blooming hole in the back. emailed them and told them i want a refund or a replacement. The wind is just whipping all the heat out of the growhouse itself.

Just a brief visit today (one & half hours) as I've got a joint of meat cooking in the oven and didn't want to cremate it TOO much as Neil is taking it to work as he's on a triple shift from tonight and won't be back home until Tuesday morning. Beautiful, warm sunny day but my, that wind is blowing v.v. strong!
Transferred a few Hollyhock seedlings to tunnel, sowed 29 (!) Sweet Pea 'Royal Celebration' seeds which I left to soak overnight....on Tuesday Carefully dug up a Calendula and a Welsh Poppy seedling which were growing in the tunnel in my potato bed - potted them up and they'll be put out once they've grown a touch bigger. Measured my flower & veggie beds and took a photo of the plot from the gate and one of my emerging rhubarb....and that's it really...
Oh, and clumsy heifer me knocked over my seed tray which had pots of brassicas so they ended up scattered all over the greenhouse floor! Hadn't started to germinate so as I only had four of each (cabbage, broccoli and kale) I'll sow some more tomorrow. Went to do it today only to realise the packets of seeds were on my desk at home!
If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

Today I tided up our little front garden and pots in the back yard and then took all the clippings up to the compost heap at the allotment (which my partner says is a ridiculous thing to do, but is all valuable compost ingredients!). Picked some PSB and chard up at the allotment and potted up some dahlia and gladioli bulbs I had found/stolen from some abandoned pots in the yard.
On Friday I had a great day of digging at the allotment, my clay soil had briefly reached that perfect stage of diggability!

Another bitty day focused around the garage as I didn't want to brave the wind which turned to sun to rain to wind to sun to wind again...........make ya mind up!
I started to tidy the garage which had become a dumping ground
Painted a bit of the garage 1. to use up the paint 2. because that bit of the garage was starting to annoy me.
Creocoted the hotbed lids I made yesterday
Made 2 wheel/tyre containers I have had on my mental to do list for 3 years and almost killed myself....twice
Made a few crooks
Went to hang some BM labels on a couple of crooks only to discovery I haven't made all the labels up, but did put a tom and cue label in gh1.
Had a bit of a burning session

Seived no end of "Jack's Magic" now all sat in trugs mixed in with perlite and slow release ready for potting on!
Cleared the remaining last year's crops, chopped into little bit's and added to the compost bin!
Two plants left of PSB! Juries out on these I'm afraid! Taken up so much room so long, if they don't deliver, will be getting "Elboe'd" First time for anything!
Broad beans sowed, onions sowed but did give in to planting sets also, Spring garlic in!
Thank gaw'd it's only a short day at work tomorrow!"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad"

Cleared out some very over-grown beds at my daughter's new house. Hidden among the rosemary and mint which must have been overgrown for years were a water feature and a strawberry planter. I've salvaged the strawberry planter for herbs but have no idea which of the herbs I've germinated to put in it.Last edited by lolie; 27-03-2016, 08:22 PM.

I'm 2 days late entering this, but on Friday (that one sunny day...), I did the following:
Raked up soil in greenhouse, ready for adding rotten manure and subsequent self seeded tomatoes.
Sowed French climbing beans, sugar snap peas, cucumbers × 26 (marketmore), courgettes x 22 (volante?? Can't remember!).
Potted my new herb plants of common thyme, oregano, coriander and curly parsley. Still need to rescue some feverfew, bronze fennel, chives, Russian tarragon and mint from old herb patch.
Potted up new violas and pansies.
Split some mystery bulbs which were in one of the pots I wanted for the violas - exciting times!
Set out all spuds in blow away to continue chitting, although they're ready to go in (but plot isn't ready and I need straw to protect from frosts).
Since then I've sulked as far as the gardening front goes!
