Also sowed carrots and salad crops, being as I'm buying so much lol
A break for lunch and a cupp

Charlottes now in the huge buckets I acquires yesterday - role on tatties. I have them against a wall with a radiator on the other side so fingers crossed.
Went to a boot sale and got strips of leeks (Jolant), chinese cabbage (Richi), spring onions (Apache) and 12 strawberry plants for £3 - bargain.
All the veg are really healthy so I have potted some of them up and the others have gone into a raised bed with a plastic tunnel at the ready.
OH has filled and planted out the large strawberry pot. I am still umming and arring over a blackberry (Cascade) to go in the top.Last edited by Lumpy; 03-04-2016, 01:27 PM.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Planted the first 30l pots of spuds (6 pots) the next lots will go in in a few weeks.
Sowed shallot sets (late, I know!)
Sowed a row of broad bean seeds
Planted out a few perennial herbs, potted up a rosemary and a bay.
I had intended to sow some carrot seeds but I can't find my carrot bags

Had my oldest (3 years old) helping me in the patch all afternoon
So she watered, put some newspaper down, watered, dug, watered, spied on our neighbour and watered some more
I mulched round the gooseberries.
Planted my outdoor grape phoenix
Squished 30 odd vine weevil grubs that were in the above (squishy, yet satisfying)
Mulched an empty bed.
Planted my indoor grape perlette ( thankfully grub free)
Planted up my asparagus bed - 4 varities total of 22 plants (my highlight as I grew all the plants from seed)

I worked my socks off today! Trip to homebase for weedkiller & garden sundries. Also picked up some veg strips, £2 a strip. I got celeriac, mange tout, broccoli, cauliflower and leeks (as I just cant seem to get my leeks to germinate!).
Over to the plot where wood chippings had been delivered... 14 barrowfulls later, i have a finished path and seating area! I also attempted to start clearing the new bit, but that needs some brute strength.
Came home for a bit & sowed some more seeds. Had a kip & headed back to the plot around fivish to light the bonfire.
