I've spent most of the day potting on everything I've sown up to yet, even been a bit ruthless and outed some seedlings instead of keeping them all and having nowhere to plant them.

That's the kind of thing - but on a bigger scale. Its a Palram? GH so very thin plastic rather than polycarb. Built without instructions and a few missing parts (but was £20). Was half built when ordered home by SWMBO and then got hit by storm last month so all bent and buckled - not a right angle to be seen now.
Essentially the metal frame will keep it somewhat together whilst I screw pallet wood both sides to keep it all together over the coming months (as I collect pallets) and create a wooden frame that really does the work.
Luckily the people who live next to my part of the plot 'like my style'... and get the odd bit or bob veg-wise.
I must take a photo

I know the kind you mean Balders, I have the same one. Luckily the panels are still in place & the only thing I can suggest is putting a bead of silicone into the profile before sliding the panels in. Otherwise, like you say is to batten the inside & screw the panels to the battens, which to be fair may be the easiest option.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

At the Hill today I:- gave the two potato beds a final rake over, applied bfb and planted the potatoes red duke of york, charlotte, maris bard, picasso and caroulus. Did that earth up thing so the are all in ridges. What a faff - but should mean I do't have to have a scrap with the foliage quite so much in the next couple of months.
- gave the one roots bed a final rake over and applied bfb (whilst raking, my idle thoughts turned to the fact that I have no parsnips sown as yet! Wondered if there were any in the 'pay p&p only' seed tapes that were delivered?) and planted the shallots topper and red sun
- gave the two pea/bean beds a final rake over ready for planting. Just need the broadies to get a move on and grow a bit so I can plant them out. Ditto sweet peas.
- gave the other roots bed a rough turnover
Came home and sowed tomatoes - this year my six buckets will contain Fenda (a new one from Marshalls that they sent me to trail last year, but I had no room then), roma, piccolo, gardeners delight, black cherry and moneymaker.Last edited by Hazel at the Hill; 10-04-2016, 08:35 PM.

Lovely day pottering in the sushine. My daughter and I sowed the first sunflowers, she wrote all the labels. She also watered all the plants in the, need to do something with, Section. Gorgeous girl, she wanted to sow more sunflowers at 7-30 tonight! I think that girl will be a gardener

Today I have managed to get my potatoes in. Hurray! 2nd earlies. Carlingford.
Set a row of radish, spring onions and beetroot ( might be a bit early for beetroot but can always sow more if needs be).
Sowed French beans, runner beans in pots in the greenhouse. Shuffled the greenhouse contents to make room for more plants, sorted seeds I still need to sow, they are getting less! generally enjoyed myself.

Tied my Broad Beans up as at 2 ft high they are starting to need support and are full of flower. Picked some PSB for dinner tomorrow night, weeded among the brassicas and cleared the purple kale that had bolted. The day that Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck ...

Again I'm two days late updating (forgive me!), but on Saturday I:
- raked soil in greenhouse, incorporating horse manure, then watered it to help the self-seeding tomatoes along.
- replaced all the onions that have been outed by norty birdies
- potted up geraniums bought on a whim in Lidl
- completed Operation Herb Rescue, by taking cuttings of my Russian tarragon and bronze fennel, planting them in seed compost along with some dug up mint and chives.
- stood back and enjoyed my herb arrangements on my steps (I like them right outside my door to encourage me to use them, as plot is at the bottom of our 1 acre yard!).
- decided I don't have room for butternut squash and as it's getting a bit late to sow them I've put the seeds into a marked envelope for next year!

After a fabulous day yesterday (5 & half hours! ) pottering about and planting flowers for bees I'm doing buzzer all today because that tickly nose from Saturday night has turned into a full-blown cold and I feel like a pile of manure....just not as useful! I had a sniffle yesterday but decided fresh air wouldn't hurt - it didn't as it was 17c on the plot! At least I am off tomorrow so can get some tunnel & greenhouse jobs done as the forecast is heavy rain all dayIf I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

A day late, but yesterday I:
- skimmed off the top third of the compost/sand mixture I have in a trough for growing carrots. Replaced with fresh compost and sand. Sowed one row of Manchester Table and one row of Chantenay Red Cored.
- weeded a bed and planted out 12 Maras des Bois and 12 Gariguette strawberry crowns.
- built a cane pyramid and planted out Champion of England pea seedlings. Think I may live to regret this, as conditions weren't ideal but it was a case of now or in two weeks' time.
- sowed mesclun and wild rocket in a trough.
The maincrop spuds will have to wait a bit longer as I didn't have time to plant them out yesterday.

Not as much happend today as I would of liked. That wind was a bit chilly and strong at times. Organised and labelled all my plants more clearly. So now I definitely know what is mine, what is for my small customer base and what is for my little red barrow at the end of the drive. Fixed the blind on my Polytunnel door (sick of it constantly banging when there's the slightest breeze). It now has the mother of all hasps on it!
Had a long chat with other half....................we're getting geese
