Uncovered another bed and dug it over. Planted out my red cabbage, leeks and 4 sage plants. Some of my tomatoes and chilli's are spending their first night in the tunnel and I've fleeced them for the night.

The combination of a work deadline, weekend away over the bank holiday then a family bereavement meant I didn't go to the plot for about 2 weeks. I finally got over there this evening and did a lot of hoeing off of weed seedlings and the dreaded horsetail, transplanted summer savory seedlings around the broad beans, and did a fair amount of watering..Last edited by elleme; 06-05-2016, 09:18 PM.

Well I'm at work till Monday evening so I won't get anything done until Tuesday but last night in between shifts I got home and found a parcel waiting for me.
It was a well packed purchase from Pennard Plants -
- a Scots Lovage (I've grown regular lovage which is way too massive for the amount I use),
- Sea Kale (I've sown seeds but these can be hit and miss )
- Himalayan Honeysuckle (another honeysuckle that doesn't climb but produces berries tasting of treacle and dark chocolate)
Can't wait to see the plot in 5 years time

Well, got home from work, sun had burnt off the morning mist so did a bit of digging. Got a bit too hot, so thought I'd cut the grass. Just on the last bit and plonk, plonk, plonk some fat, lazy raindrops were plopping on my head. So got a bit of a shift on and hastily finished the job.
It's very muggy and has stopped raining for now, but it looks extremely threatening ...!
Sowed a few more cuce seeds and some lettuce in a tub in GH
I'm really, really chuffed that OH has helped me measure up my 'plot'. Great joy, he's only ordered me some scaffold boards for next week! He's going to cut them to size and fix them up for me for my 'beds'. Woohoo, can't wait to order a bit of topsoil and start using them!
I'll post pics when anything happens!~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need
a prescription ... And with no limit on dosage.

Nothing in the patch today
Removed my dead apricot tree
Removed some dead and diseased branches off a couple of other trees
Weighted a couple of pear branches to try and get a bit better shape/coverage.
Finally squirted gh2 door with WD4O
Put in a new pond sausage and slung the old one (sock with barley straw)
A bit of lawn care

I forked over the bed that my carrots will go in, removing 2 1/2 bucketfuls (bucketsful?) of stones in the process. They will be growing under net their entire life so I've put blue hoops up ready.
Then I did half an hour's watering of stuff already planted, it hasn't rained since I put things in about a week ago.

Worked most of day but did get stuff from house or GH either outside or into GH (runners, cuc, courgettes, toms, chillis, basil, salads etc etc)
Carrots are finally germinating , more spring onions coming up and even the odd leek is finally germinating , amazing what a touch of warmth does.
All back in place now .
Sowed some more nasturtiums, squash (first lot didn't germinate) , and some Borlotti beans, also trying to germinate some pinto beans
Fed various clematis and not sure what else.Northern England.

De-carpeted the plot. All the old carpet is in the skip. Hurrah! Hoed the strawberries, onions and garlic. Moulded up the potatoes some more. Put up my bean sticks. At home, mowed the back lawn short. Played with the scarifier ... it was Mr Q's toy and I wasn't really allowed to use it. Goodness knows why - it is hardly technical! Potted on many, many tomatoes and aubergines. Planted some more climbing french beans and some more lettuce.
