  • Planted out Cauliflowers and weeded Strawberry beds.
Decided where I'm going to plant out the Tromboncini plants - next to one of the sheds, so I can train them up the side of it hopefully, so started piling up as much manure as possible to ensure they get a good start.
I'm so far behind this year, but plants usually have a pretty good go at catching up.
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?

        • Last front glass panel added to the front of Summerhouse. It now has one large glass panel in the end and three along the front.
It was freezing this evening whilst working on summerhouse so lit the woodburner even though the front glass is missing. A bit of smoke from the front didn't matter too much as I only have half the roof on so there was plenty of ventilation!

Brushed a bit of Poundlands finest green wood preserver on area's I could reach as a base coat.

Covered a few more tattie tops that had popped up as we could still have a frost!

          • Made my Squoe, squoed the SFG beds, strimmed paths between raspberry rows, started to strim plot but smoke stopped play as neighbour decided to have a fire. Went to other end of garden & strimmed & mowed the grass, had a run in with said neighbour which lead me to have a beer even though I don't drink, threw half of it down the sink then realised the slugs would have liked it...........hey ho.

              • Quick visit to allotment as working today. Sowed 16 Sweetcorn 'Swift F1' (been meaning to do it for past WEEK!!!). Greenhouse door staying closed today because despite it being fairly sunny there's a bit of an icy north wind blowing and I don'rt want to lose my precious newly-emerged seedlings.

                • Planted out some of my Exhibition and Kelsae Onions and covered covered with fleece just to be on the safe side.
Potted up my Chilli plants - Trinidad, Zimbabwe, Scotch Bonnet, Bhut Jolokia, Paper Lantern, Prairie Fire, Peruvian Lemon Drop, Jalapeno and Joe's Super Long. I think I got carried away this year!
Decided to have a go at starting up the strimmer for the first time since last September. With the move and then health problems, I didn't get round to draining it and cleaning it down for the winter, so wasn't very optimistic, but it started on the fifth cord pull - and it only took so many goes because I forgot to turn it on first!
Got back home to find the plasterers still hard at work and nowhere to sit, so sat on the half completed decking with a cuppa.

                  • Hi Skeggijon, I am also growing some Kelsae onions from seeds in pots. When did you start yours off. Looking for any info as this is my first year growing from seed.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I started mine off in December in a heated propagator under grow lights.

                        • Hubby constructed the new tool shed, I weeded the beds and bunged some more spuds into containers, probably too late but we shall see.

Filled bags ready to sow carrots and parsnips tomorrow, I'm so late with everything!

Stared repeatedly at dead looking raspberry canes, willing them to spring into life!

                          • Worked on summerhouse. Cut and secured latts over large expanse of plywood to give a rustic effect.

Painted part of summerhouse with poundland green fence paint. Hoed up tatties that were showing above ground. Lit the woodburner again to get rid of some scrap wood.

Not looking forward to trying to get large panes of glass fitted to the roof.

                            • Went to plot, OH put down some massive slabs to form half a path across the plot, whilst I continued weeding. I seem to be infested with this horrible weed that looks a bit like a pea, but has long, white curly roots that spread everywhere.
Put up some bean poles for the runner beans, just need to do the same for the mange tout and sugar snaps now.
Really want to get stuff planted, but its still too cold at night.
