Potted up a couple more chillies. Other half lowered half the bench in the tunnel, so I can fit my big chilli pots in. Tied up my toms and pinched out again. Planted more kale, lettuce, another courgette. More flowers in the front garden.

Potted on my sweet pepper plants into their final pots. Potted on my two pathetic, underdeveloped chilli plants into slightly larger pots.
Down the allotment, harvested potatoes, strawberries, lettuce and radishes, tied up the new growth on the cordon sweet peas, picked a bunch of flowers and scattered slug pellets in key spots.

This weekend.
Friday evening
Planted more cabbage cauliflower and brocholli through sheet mulch after feeding the ground and applying nematode and slug pellets underneath. Made frame with canes and 'golf balls' and then stitched scaffold netting overall. Planted out some more celery, beetroot and leeks.
Saturday
Planted up the pots and hanging baskets, sorthed through the remaining plants to use as bedding at the house or spares to the plot.
Sunday
Appres le deluge - Applied the rest of the nematodes to the whole plot and paths. Too wet to spray the alliums for the blight everyone seeme to have developed this weekend.
All things considered I'm finally optimistic that the plot will be green without large patches of brown dirt so I must have caught up with 'stuff'.

Potted on more chilli's and tomatoes. Tied up some tomatoes. Fed everything. Made up a couple of salad bags for the little honesty shop. Sown more salad. Planted two big lupins just starting to show some colour in the flower spike. Hopefully they will be big enough to be left alone by the bl@@dy voles.

Friday I finally got a chance to get my tomatoes planted in the polytunnel.
Then the rains started
Today the rain FINALLY decided to stop at around 6pm so I popped up to the plot and set up some bean frames *note to self for next year: have them up and ready by beginning of May!*
Also planted some sweet peas at the ends of the frames, deadheaded some alliums in the tunnel (I'll plant them out into the ground outside tomorrow) and planted two cucumbers in the tunnel. If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

Last night I planted out some sunflowers, watered the strawberry baskets, pulled up some bolted spinach, gave the roots bed a quick weed and tied in the broad beans and sugar peas that were starting to sprawl.
This morning I started putting up the net cage for this years kale. Had to leave it half done and get to workHe-Pep!

Had to throw away one of my brussell plants that was about a foot tall. It had snapped at the base. Not sure what it was off as it hasn't really been windy at all. There was a lot of water on the leaves which had made it quite heavy and flopping over. could that have made it snap at the bottom?
Anyway, i had a spare one waiting int he wings in case anything like this happened and although it is small as it has been sat in a little module for a while now, it;s not in the ground and firmed in.

Day off work and the sun actually shone! Spent 3.5hrs on the plot putting up more frames for stuff to grow over and planted out
9 x Borlotto Beans 'Lingua de Fuoca 2'
10 x Runner Bean 'scarlet emperor'
11 x Runner Bean 'prizewinner'
3 x winter squash 'Uchiki Kuri'
4 x Tromboncino
4 x Munchkin pumpkins
7 x Yellow Bush Scallop Squash
1 x Cucumber 'La Diva'
10 x Sweet Pea
2 x Pumpkin 'Rouge vif D'Etampes'
Still got some French Beans 'cobra', Peas 'hurst green shaft, Sweetcorn and Butternut Squash to go out but I ran out of canes to make a frame for the french beans and peas so got some more from Wilko and will put them up tomorrow after work. The sweetcorn will go into the beds I dug last Tuesday in front of the tunnel and the butternuts will be going inside the tunnel I think as they prefer heat. I may try a couple outside if I have space. Feeling a LOT happier as this weekend has been so bad weatherwise I was starting to panic about stuff getting pot bound and suffering setbacks!

I've finished finally potting of all my chillies
Potted on all my spare pumpkins and courgettes & sunflowers
Potted on some stocks and pink Poppy's in the hopes to get them big enough to avoid voles, before I plant them out.
Thinned out carrots, in beds and buckets ( got enough for a portion from the thinnings )
Done a bit of weeding.

I tried to do some weeding today but the ground was too wet and then it rained. So I gave up on weeding and fetched 5 barrowloads of chippings from the car park, spread one on paths to keep the weeds down and stashed the other 4 in a heap until I can get newspapers down on the remaining paths.
Maybe the showers will stop soon!
In the meantime, everything is growing like nobody's business, even the slugs.
