  • Tied up chilli's, tomatoes and sunflowers.
    Pinched out tomato armpits.
Bagged a few more chilli flower buds.
Had a swap round in the little tunnel because tomatoes were getting to big for the shelves. Carrots are now on the shelves, tomatoes are on the palette.
Wrote some more notes for my chilli and tomato comparisons later in the year,

    • Im well excited, i just harvested my first cucumber! No idea if it is ready or not, i was just so excited to see it! My cucamelons have some flowers on, and I have green raspberries. Looking around, I think I should have planted more, ive got lots of little bits, but not really enough to share or for a meal.

Brought a Buddlia in a large planter from other plot. Brought a black leaved dahlia from other plot, also in a large pot. Brought some of the pots and planters from my old plot.
Pulled up a few weeds from my tattie field.

          • This morning - Planted out 6 dwarf Frenchies, potted on my Cavolo Nero, sowed a tray of spring onions, pricked out some savoy cabbage. Added last night's lawn clippings to the compost bins, mulched a courgette with clippings as well. Gave everything in the polytunnel a watering. Brought all my (6) chillies from home to live in the tunnel.
Ate some breakfast strawberries straight from the plants, yum!
            He-Pep!

            • Went to the allotment with the intention of an easy day for the last day of my work holidays! intended sowing some haricot beans and bringing one of my pumpkins back indoors and potting it up again as it seems to be struggling outdoors.I was also going to bring my blueberry in a large pot, over to my new plot. I quickly completed these tasks but had a more pressing task to handle!

I couldn't get in the greenhouse or shed of my old plot as someone had dumped about 30 paving slabs in a heap. I pressume someone thought they were doing me a favour and paving slabs always come in handy. The problem with these ones was that there were five dabs of concrete still attached to the bottom of each!

Undaunted, I shipped them over to my new plot in wheel barrow loads and chiseled off the concrete 'dabs'. So much for my easy day!

                • Put bell cloches back onto my 3 outdoor Q's.

                  Turned the heating on.

Watched the hammering rain and cold, blustery wind through the window.

                  And................

Decided that I will start again next year!

                  • Rescued bean frame that was hammered by wind/rain - hopefully runners will be ok ....
Re-homed the two greenfly stricken but now (hopefully) clear Ancho chilli plants, into GH...
Moved last of the 'indoor' Orange habaneros into GH ....
Scuttled briskly from house to GH ... and back again ...
                    Frowned at the weather...
Put on another jumper... switched heating on for a quick blast of warmth..!!

                    • Dug some channels for drainage before putting chippings on paths and the muddy staging area, it's so nice not to be walking on squidgy mud

                          • Off to rip up my garlic (sorry tenderly uproot them).

I one I pulled 3 days ago was quite good so the rest will come up as, with the weather like it is drying them out is going to be difficult.
