    • Measured and cut the final board for my summerhouse roof. Nailed into position and siliconed around it. Fastened two large galvanised 'L' shaped sections to the edge of the summerhouse to assist in water run off.

Potted on 10 Calabrese plants into bigger pots.

Shifted my 'Park bench' from my old plot on a wheelbarrow and pruned back a wayward gooseberry bush to allow me to position it where I wanted it. Painted the woodwork with 'orangey' coloured wood preserver which toned down a bit when it was dry. Because I still had a bit of the orangey stuff left i painted the front of my cedarwood greenhouse with it to tidy it up.

Sorted the chicks and chooks, collected some eggs then headed for home before the next heavy shower.

      • Well today was a very disheartening day, the first time Ive wondered why Im bothering.... Went to the plot, noticed the potatoes were looking iffy... They flowered a couple of weeks ago, so I thought that maybe they are ready to be harvested... Started digging them up (mix of first and second earlies)... Out of two rows of spuds at least two thirds have putrified in the ground. The smell was horrendous. Im assuming they've just rotted as the ground is so wet.
It doesnt help that theres ants in everything (including the aphids they are milking), plus bindweed growing everywhere... The squashes are rubbish and the peas are pathetic and bitter... Sorry, just feeling very downhearted today...

        • Bex! Don't be too disheartened, to be honest a lot of us are struggling with most things this year with the terrible weather we have been dealt!

Well yesterday managed to get the "Greenhouse" just about planted out, way, way behind this year, & the plants looking a little sad to say the least, been in their pots far too long!

But their in! So here's hoping!

Today! Been at the "Healm of Industry" but now home having a catch up on here with a few "Cold One's" which have my name firmly stamped all over em!

          So "Cheers" everyone!

          • Today I have spent seven hours breaking up concrete in my back garden. I finally managed to get Wickes to replace postholders that I drilled to my concrete path to hold my fence panels up two years ago, that promptly fell down nine months later. Since then I've argued I want my money back as the postholders were simply not fit for purpose. They've left it, ignored me, refused to refund, dragging it out for a year and a half. I FINALLY got someone to agree to give me concrete posts, new fence panels and paint to replace the broken ones.
So, after that good news, I mentioned it to my neighbour who had happened to borrow a big drill type thingy-me-jig that breaks up concrete. So, after I'd done the holes for the posts, all six of them, I figured I might as well break up part of the path so I can move my raspberries there. Especially as I am laying a new path in the middle of the garden. Well by'eck that wasn't an easy job and I'm only half way done, so guess what I'm doing tomorrow!?!

I know, im just feeling sorry for myself... Most of the plots are rife with it, this is the second year in a row that its been this bad. Thankfully I hadnt taken the majority of my tomatoes over there, think I'll leave them in the garden this year (where theyll live I dont know!)

On a positive note, at least my rhubarb and courgettes are ok!

              • Finished painting the fence, just the back of the gate to do.

Screwed in some eyes into the fence posts to take wire to support whatever I'm going to plant there and popped inn two lines of wire need t get some more wire.

My strawberries have been munched by the slugs but my pineberries haven't. They have been munched by me and they were lovely. Goosegogs and red currants are reddening, black currants are blackening

                • Nothing other than just had a wander with dog for inspection, munched brassicas, munched runners, not a single cuc or courgette, tiny weeny toms, beet leaf miner.
Blimey this yr needs to pick up.

                  • Potted 5 courgettes into their final buckets, along with one of the chillies (didnt have time to start on the mammoth task which is re-potting all of the chillies!)

Had another tidy up of the toms and ANOTHER attempt to stop the peas disappearing over next doors fence - cutting off the growing tips doesnt seem to be fazing them!

Gave everything a seaweed feed - hopefully it will give everything a bit of a boost

                    • What I did yesterday - repotted greenhouse tomatoes that were drying out a bit too quickly. Silly me not keeping up on labels, as now I don't know my Red Pear from my San Marzano. The ones that are fruiting so far are long but with a slight dip in the middle like a waist. I'm guessing the latter probably.

                      • Looking for a new hose pipe that I bought last summer......bh decided I look in top shed......which incidentally is a total ****tip......well he went out for the day with the boy and I emptied the shed.
Reckon he knew the blessed thing wasn't in there and that he'd been in already creating aforementioned mess......saw me coming didn't he......

Still good effort despite not finding the hose pipe and still having loads of other stuff to do

                        • Planted out 8 more DFBs, gave my spuds in barrels and bags a feed of T*m*rite, fed my sweetcorn and kale with home made nettle tea. Planted up a couple of Padrons and one of my Inferno chillies into flower buckets (very heavily laced with chicken manure pellets, hope that doesn't kill 'em) and put them in the cold frame as there's literally no room left in the polytunnel for now.
Pulled a few weeds from the potato beds (mainly horsetail).
Picked some beautiful broccoli raab for tea.

                          • Did this yesterday, I was too tired to post.

Re-positioned compost bin 2, turned bin 1 into bin 2. Re-positioned bin 1 and filled with mulch that I got on Friday

                            • Harvested New Potatoes grown in Buckets and planted Poached Egg Plants around the base of the runner beans, potted on some more Tomatoes and added them to the extension to the little shed On the Allotment.

                              • Repotted a tomato plant I'd missed the other day, transplanted some french beans that I'd started indoors to a large pot with stakes in it for support, raised it up off the ground in the hope these ones won't get slugged, and sowed a few little gem lettuce.
