Snipped all the tops off my Rooster spuds as they were looking a bit sick.
Took advantage of the dry spell we've been having up here, and dredged the big drainage trench I dug in Spring. It'd nearly disappeared under weeds and minor earth-falls, but now it's looking crisp again. I'm thinking of lining it with old fertiliser bags, filling the bottom with rubble, and putting planks over the top so it acts like a French drain - and I won't have to step over it the whole time either!
A handsome young fox came and sat down on the thick straw mulch under my plum tree not ten feet away and watched me dredging with my draw hoe.
Fed the toms in the tunnel, and off to work.
