    • turned over the big space on the plot - chucked some comfrey on top then covered with plastic for the winter - sure the slugs will like it but I'm gonna work on my medieval themed slug weapons over the winter so I'm happy with that.

I could if I soldered both strips together but I have a cunning plan to be revealed at a later date.............

        • Yesterday I gathered 4 big bin bags of leaves off the school field before the wind dispersed them. Today I took them to the plot and collected hy 5 barrow loads of soil improver bought by some of us. I took the wire cage off last year's leaf mould and set it in its new location before starting to fill it with my first collection. Picked the last French beens and some curly kale for tea. Spread the soil improver and headed home.

          • Put 2 compost bins into 1 to make more room for waste. Tidied up toms in gh - cut stems down as have spinach round the bottom - will be interesting to see if toms regrow. Moved a msrgueritte & some geraniums into gh.
            Another happy Nutter...

I thought you had perfected that! Or do you want to be able to launch the slugs as far as Geordieland?

                • Trebuchet requires adjustment - have thrown test projectile about 10ft - need to get it to about 30ft so that aforementioned projectile won't find its way back.

The ballista is the one that is a bit like a crossbow - quite fancy having a go at that.

                  • Pulled out most of my tomato plants today so the greenhouse looks quite bare now.

Got the other small growhouse to sort out sometime this week.

Need to get my horse manure on my garden as well sometime but the garden is bloody soaking so I'm going to get up the naffs.

                      • Cleared/weeded a strip of soil at the back edge of my plot (under the brambles). I'm going to bung in a load of daff bulbs there for a nice spring display. Bladdy cold down there this morning though.

                        • I've cut away the remaining leaves from GH tom plants hoping that the last toms will ripen, potted on winter lettuce, raked leaves, collected sunflower heads for birds and seed saving.

                          • Have just spent the morning playing with the leaf vac so I now have 4 barrow loads of shredded leaves which will become next years mulch.
