  • Sowed Parsnips.
    Spring onions, red and white.
    Lettuce mixed and Lollo Rosa.
    French Marigold.
    Scarlet Runners.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • I sowed a few pots today.

        Lettuce "Salad Bowl Red"
        Lettuce "Reine Des Glaces"
        Cauli "All The Year Round"
        Mizuna
        Cabbage "Attraction F1"
        Cabbage "January King 3"

These will sit in the cold greenhouse to germinate, except that the lettuce will spend the night in the fridge first to make sure they wake up.

Also I put some more sweet corn out to chit, "Sweet Nugget F1".

I meant to get all my beans, squashes, peas and pumpkins sown during the week but then got so busy digging the beds before the forecast bad weekend weather arrived that it was Friday night before I knew it! Beds are all done now though and I am off work for a week so definitely getting them all done Monday

Housework is for wet winter days

All I managed to get sown today was some bee-friendly Salvia flowers. A variety called Claryssa Mixed which were free with a garden magazine last week.

Tomorrow I shall start sowing veggie seeds
