I've sown Garden pearl tomatoes and Sunstripe and after a dodgy start (germinated after a few days then tried reaching Tim peake in space!) I've repotted the seedlings deeper and they seem really healthy now. Also done some jalapeño and Razzamataz chillies. Half have germinated half are having a lie in. Done broad beans for the first time and they have all germinated too. Got 7 types of basil coming on nicely and some "mystery herbs" I was given. Should be interesting to see what they end up being! Any ideas what else I can start? I've not much room but will find a way!

                    • Sowed some chamomile seeds 1st Feb, to see if I can grow my own tea - I love chamomile tea in the evening. The little darlings are all up today

And ever the optimist, from a box of pine, fir and cedar cones that have been in the loft at least 25 years, I've put a few cedar seeds and pine seeds on kitchen roll to see if they will chit. Do you think there's any chance?

(Though I don't exactly have room for 60ft trees in the garden )
                      Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
                      Endless wonder.

                      • I tried to grow Chamomile once but failed to get it to germinate. Saying that though I wasn't confident about the quality of the seeds I had.

                              • Last night I sowed broad beans and early peas in modules to replace my autumn (winter...) sown ones that did nothing. I also put 5 seeds of 6 different peppers - red and golden cayenne, birds eye, cherry bomb, sweet peppers and another I can't remember on paper towels to sprout. The seeds are all a few years old so I'm doing it this way so I don't waste compost and space trying to germinate them. I'll be putting a few more in every few days until I get some results. And when I inevitably end up with 40 chili plants I don't have space for I'll be freecycling them.
