I can't wait to start my chilli sowing season, do those of you that have already started use grow lights?
I usually start around now but my method is to pray to the chilli gods for bright sunny days that shine gloriously on my over filled window sills!
Not very botanical is it?
I must admit I've had varied results ( due to the chilli gods, obviously )
I havent got grow lights. I usually sow feb but if the seed is a little old i'll sow earlier as they often take ages to germinate.
Last year I dragged two chests of drawers Infront of the sunniest windowsill. Covered them with plastic and old towels in case of water leakage, Planted so much stuff it grew into a small jungle and spent many a day peeking and grinning at new sproutlings. This year... I have bought some small pots... It did snow here on Saturday though, so perhaps I'm right to be joining BM with the hand sitting!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...
I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!
Dying to get things started. 1st February is the day i am looking forward too. Onions (red and white), Leeks, Tomatoes will all b getting sown then. Probably a few other things as well.
Over the weekend I sowed various herbs, including thyme, coriander, 3 types of basil, parsley, dill and lemon balm. I also put my spring garlic into modules to give it a head start. I was also going to sow broad beans and peas to (probably) replace my autumn sowings, but when the snow started I decided to hold off until the end of the month.

Can't find the aubergine seeds I wanted, so sowed Rosanna and Antigua instead. Did find my Long Red Florence seeds so they are in too, plus some trial chilli seeds and thai red hibiscus for the calyxes.
