I started my tomatoes today, am I too early (London, UK)? Every site seemed to be telling me it was time, but they are outside tomatoes so maybe I should have waited a couple more weeks... I have extras so can sow more in 2 weeks if needed...
Also did modules of leeks and spring onions and going to do celeriac tomorrow (inside, sunny, fairly warm windowsill). I put peas directly in the ground 2 weeks ago, no sign of growth so thinking it might have been too early, so thinking I should resow those next week if I still don't see anything coming up, am I being impatient?

London is a little, well not so little, thermal island. I'm in north Oxfordshire and our average last date of frost is something like 2 months later than London. Which is not such a bother this year as there is currently standing water on my plot.

Sowed some cayenne as I'm beginning to think the patio sizzle and rocoto chillies may be no-shows. Fingers crossed...
I have some tomato seedlings on my windowsill, san marzano and I might start off a few red pear and/or tigerella later today from my magazine seeds. I'm also in London though.Last edited by elleme; 13-03-2016, 03:51 PM.

That's me, I've given myself a shake and have planted carrots, in flower buckets, two types of bush tomato, chillis, and courgettes! All the things I like. Going to buy some Apache chilli-seeds or plants, not sure yet. That's me started...yay!sigpic

This morning I sowed my tomatoes, Galina, Maskotka and Sungold. I was planning on growing Tumbler as well, but must have used up all the seed last year - never mind, I'll just grow on one more Maskotka.
Also, two more 4' rows of beetroot, I'm trying some monogerm varieties this year, Soloist and Moneta.He-Pep!
