Dug up the garlic & elephant garlic today. Always grow to much garlic so did less this time, now thinking it wasn't enough! Been harvesting lots of mixed lettuce, turnip greens & Swiss chard plus a few courgettes this week.

Pulled up some garlic - still quite small so I will leave the others for a few more weeks.
Also harvested a handful of tomatoes, sage and the first lot of borlotti beans.
Meant to pull up some radish but totally forgot!Comment

These were in a pot CG - but I'd had to keep them indoors way too long early 'spring' so they struggled when I transplanted them. I've left them until I needed the pot (today) but have others growing in my raised bed.
Seems they're happy as long as they can climb

Mine(one plant germinated) are still indoors with pinto beans . The pinto really droop leaves if room goes cool so wondered if borlotti similar. If I had 2nd GH think I'd have to put in there.
Are they ok outside usually ? It's cool here and windy. Never done them before . Havnt even got a runner bean yet.Northern England.Comment

Our first tatties of the year - Charlottes.............yummy.
6 MFB carrots.........not very large though.
OH is a menace when it comes to broad beans so he has stripped down all the plants. Oh Joy...hours of podding ahead me thinks.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Charlotte potatoes, a few mangetout and a fair amount of cherries that were just about ripe - I could have left them longer but the birds are already at them and the tree's rather big for netting.Last edited by elleme; 13-07-2016, 05:22 PM.Comment
