          • After a pretty bad year I finally dug up some "International Kidney" potatoes. My first time growing potatoes and they are fantastic!

Also cropped some big red onions and my first courgettes which went straight into last nights pasta.

I forgot how good it feels to harvest. Makes all those weeks of slug decimation worth it.

                  • Today I harvested a 40 litre bag of 'sharpes express' potatoes (the first two photos with a cat for size) Quite a few potatoes compared with the last photo of my 'lady christl' that I harvested same size bag about two weeks ago. All good though

                          • This afternoon I harvested gooseberries, potatoes, onions, strawberries and tomatoes.
Everything beginning to ripen quickly now due to the sunshine of the last few days.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                              • Blueberries - just a handful at a time to share with the wife. The main cropping will take place shortly and they'll be frozen for later use on cereals etc.
Courgettes - deliberately being picked small as the local mouse seems to have taken a liking to them.
Blackcurrants - the crop off the plants I inherited (variety unknown) has always been disappointing, but the 'Big Ben' i planted 2 years ago is amazing - big clumps of grape size fruits. So easy easy to pick.
