Just an update on the pics taken two weeks ago

Last remaining stump in the background two weeks ago

Today after a back breaking battle

                The beast in question

Just need to level and dig over the soil now. Will probably rest my back for a week or so before starting that

Only been in 15 minutes, made the mistake of sitting down! Now I have to try and get up again.

The End of February in the Garden

Everything looks the same from afar but there's been some growth. I've planted a few lettuce in between the brussels sprouts,I read something recently about plants liking company, plus they have aphids on so they're nice near the ladybird house.

                          March

                          Near the hotbin

Still just the lone Brokali in its bucket. It has slowed down a lot - I don't think it likes the cold nights.

                          Near the apple tree

Buckets of pathetically small leeks have been joined by PSB in a bucket, about to flower. This area now gets a little sun around mid day.

                          From under the archway

The net has been removed from the veggiemesh cage because we keep getting forecasts of snow. Pots of carrots are still producing nice roots even if the foliage looks rather worse for wear. Winter spinach in the growhouse is still growing painfully slowly. I was supposed to be eating this in December!

The dark area behind the fruit cage

The raspberries and old broken shelving have gone and been replaced by a matching raised bed. This is currently only half full, containing the compost that the raspberries were growing in. I want to make sure no bits of root are going to grow before filling the rest of the bed. Not much else has changed.

                          The veg garden

Early peas (Meteor) have been planted behind a sheet of polycarbonate that looks like a mirror in this photo. Not a lot else has changed. Next door's cat has hijacked my archway for use as a scratching post.

                            Feb - March:

Plot - All paths now chipped, most of the beds marked out for SFG with the exception of a couple of strawberry beds. Mangetout are growing nicely up the bean frame. Guttering fixed to fence to be planted up with bedding.

Squash Beds - Not a lot of change, more chippings down, a smaller 4th bed made. Just waiting for the weather to warm up.

Pond - Again no real change apart from George making an appearance.

Munty Frame - Between the 2 kites is a 7 foot gap which is going to house 3 x 6ft wide greenhouse frames (1 down, 2 to go). I've not decided what is going to grow up them yet, I'm thinking maybe perennial Runner Beans.
