The cobs grow out of the side of the plants mouse, not the top I'm only a whisker over 5ft and have no problems with them.
Incidentally, our minipop plants are only about 18 inches tall now, but I have no worries about getting a crop off them - they were the same last year at this time and they cropped fine, in August if my memory serves me correctly.

My minipop are over 6ft, probably 7ft for the tallest ones and some of them are ready to pick. The one lesson I've learnt this year is to grow proper sweetcorn as the minipop plants get just as big but you only get little cobs of them!!

I had some mini pop seeds from the seedswap which have produced AMAZING 6 ft plants, they look so strong. Each plant has produced just 2 cobs with tassles on the end which have turned pink. They do look quite big though so was wondering if they might just be normal cobs as was expecting more per plant. Should I pick one of the cobs off to inspect it?

I think you pick them as small immature cobs, gardenpassion - they don't make very good eating when they are fully grown.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?
