  • The thing is, as you have moved them on a little too early, you can't even give them a little boost with a diluted feed, as that would probably wipe them out altogether!

You live n learn with this "Gardening Merlarky!"

They are 44 inches plus pots . They have been stopped at 3 trusses of flowers, otherwise they will hit the top of the bay window.

Sown 11th January. They will stay indoors and hopefully provide some early tomatoes.

                  • Hi all,

I planted my seeds on 2nd April in a heated Propagator, they all germinated on 7th April whilst I was down in London and as soon as I got home I got them off the heat and into the light. Admittedly this was only last week but since then they haven't done a lot, when should I expect the seedlings to get a bit stronger and develop the next set of leaves? Thanks!

                    • They'll be putting down roots, Sara. Give them a couple of weeks.

                          • Separated out some seedlings and transplanted them a bit deeper into bigger pots. An old teaspoon is my tool of choice for this job

A few of the early sowings have been in an unheated green house for the last week or two and they've been ok. I haven't forgotten to close the greenhouse door at night yet

                            • Potted up my toms today. 27 varieties sown mid March. Culled down to only five of each. Somehow I seem to have ended up growing things I haven't grown before and "mainly red" ones. However, save has to be kept for Summer Cider and my "grown out" Oleron Yellow as well as growing things for my blight comparison with Crimson Crush and Mountain Magic.

                              • Growing Ruby and Stupice tomatoes as well as Grushovka. The Grushovka were actually heirloom seeds from last years toms. Wasnt sure they would work so put loads in for redundancy, but loads of seedlings came up. Will be tomato mad this year if everything grows to full strength.

Also growing Tomatillos again, same as Grushovka from last years crop.
