How did you find out? That's so poor! I would have been really upset.
What happened to the plants in the end? Did you have to start again?

    • Did you have the soil tested Solanace?

      • My toms seem to have lost their green, I've tried a light feed but they are still the same, sort of yellow and curled?

        • mine keep going through phases of yellow and green CG... I'm putting it down to low light levels as it seems to correlate with when we have sun and when we don't!

            • Just put some string on some of my bigger tomato plants today. The other ones are just thrown in beside them for now. Things are starting to take shape.

                Looking really good, scoot!

I've put 10 'micro' Hundreds and Thousands tom plants into a hanging basket today. Hope they perk up a bit, they look very droopy ... Although small, thought they'd be big enough now as they had lots of leaves, and was guessing that as they're 'micro' they're not ever going to be massive plants!!
I watered them in well - just got to hang them up, couldn't lift the flippin thing up and attach it as it was too heavy .....!

Hi susie, is the micro version different to the regulalr hundreds and thousands? because the regular plants can get pretty huge

                  • Just what I thought Maverick. Ive just checked and each plant can grow to 60cm wide, one per basket I think would work best Susie.

                    • I had one in a large basket and it trailed about 2-3 foot over the side

Sorry this isnt the best pic but its the only one I can find

                      • I've had some side shoots sat in water for about a week now and they have just started to sprout some little roots. How long do people normally leave the roots to grow before planting them into compost?

                        • A welcome sight on a chilly, damp, dull May morning:

Balconi Red (sown 3rd Feb) on my spare room windowsill obviously enjoyed yesterday's sunshine.

                            • Tumbler toms - not tumbling

                              Hi all,

Attached are (prob sideways) pics of my tumbler tom. Its been growing inside but now living in its final hanging basket. However, I (perhaps being silly) have been growing it with a cane - and it now looks very sorry for itself and definitely not tumbler like.

Will it sort itself out or does it need rescue? Has it got too leggy? Also - I planted it kind of sloping so it was somewhat tipping - should it be planted straight? Should I give up and just cordon it?!

                              Thanks in advance

                              • That doesnt really look happy like that does it, I think it may snap or get damaged

I personally would be tempted to grow it in a big pot, sink it deep and then let it grow as a bush variety so maybe semi support it so it stands upright

You could always take a sideside, root it and then plant in the basket to get a true tumbler,
