@ SP, I hope you get some good results off the LED (or is it UFO?)...

Chris, yes I think I will try stuffing the Cherry Bombs with some type of cheese next time I get a crop, hopefuly I will have enough to try out a few combinations of stuffings.

As u know mine are under grow lights from start and keep adjusting the height in the early days as I sit on my hands now.

I am getting some showings but hungarian wax is the last to show
                        Pictures will follow soon
Thanks a lot jacks, I've given them enough TLC so I'm so pleased I have hurt them with too much love this time round. The T5 HO bulbs have enough oomph to keep them happy.

I try to keep the tops of the plants about 1.5-2cm below the bulbs. Any less than 1cm and there's the risk of scorching due to the heat, and also when the leaves grow overnight and touch the bulb.

By nipping off the odd vigourous shoot that starts growing fast above the top of the plant it has made the rest of the growth very flat. This helps get the most from the grow lights, as a drop of just a few centimetres means the light level goes down quite a bit, so by keeping the top fairly flat most leaves are getting a good light level. I use a light meter app on my phone to measure the light levels.

A previous Jalapeno I brought in and put under lights seemed to grow in a flat way anyway without much pruning from me, with a flat-ish canopy layer but it didn't want to grow much underneath, due to the low light levels down there, see below (taken last November):

Your Hot Wax may well catch up with the others yet... Compared to this year's new Jalapeno which was pruned right back at the same time, about fours weeks ago, my HHW had flowers open 4-5 days earlier, and small pods are now plumping up just a couple of days later - the Jalapeno has only just had four flowers open yet. It's very exciting, feels just like May/June time if the plants are grown naturally.

Sadly even under the lights a seedling will still take a while to start romping up with fast growth, as they do grown normally.

It will be good to see your setup, as I guess posts of how people's grows are going will be scarce for a few months over winter I guess.

                        • Wow Tim you have given them a lot of TLC

The picture is not a clear one but you can sort of see some shoots in one pot and none in the other. One has got a little shoot but it's not photographic as yet!! Lol

My grow lights are not on as long as yours.

Let's hope the hungarian wax will catch up

Thanks again jacks. Your grow light looks very similar to mine in overall form, but much tidier. Do you know the product name for it?

When the seedlings are young you can give them more hours of light light to speed up their growth, even up to 24h initially for a while, although it depends what your overall plan for them is I guess, whether you want them to grow slower and be mature just in time for in spring etc. to go outside.

Your seedlings are tiddlers, for the moment. I'm sure they stand a good chance of becoming monsters! The Hungarian Hot Wax will have plenty of chance to catch up, mine is a fast grower compared to the others I've got, so I guess this is normal for HHW and I didn't just get lucky with a vigorous seed.

If you move your grow light a bit closer it might help to avoid seedlings becoming leggy, as long as they're fluorescent bulbs and it's not too hot under there. If they start to ever get purple sunburn on the leaves move the lights higher, it takes days to develop so no risk of any real harm. You can always bury them deeper when you transplant them though to reduce some of the lankiness.
