You should be fine with them, just remember that as soon as you spot green, get them outta dodge ( prop) and into some light, good luck and enjoy .

Yep, or turn off the heat and place it by a bright window. they will get leggy ( almost unrepairable) in an amazingly short time.
most of the chillis you mention i sow in an unheated prop on an east facing window around january and they do fine, too much heat, too little light can be more devastating than too little light in my opinion.
heated props are awesome, but dont sow all your chickens, just in case.

This Numex Twilight (please find pics attached) never produced any chillies this past year, it just kept on dropping it's flowers from about July until October.
I've no idea what I'm doing with chillies so rather than throw it out I'm going to try and over-winter it.
What are it's chances?Attached Files

This might be of help Scoot
Chilli Plant Flower Drop
The main thing with chillis is not to overwater them. I generally water and feed mine just as they reach the stage of telling you their thirsty, ie their leaves start to droop.
The plant looks healthy enough , it may have a chance, but again, water very sparingly and keep an eye out for new growth and aphids.
Maybe the book behind it is making it sadLast edited by jackarmy; 11-12-2016, 08:01 AM.

Have a few chillies and peppers sown early. Just experimenting really, with a few of the oldest seeds that may take longer to germinate or not germinate at all.
And some others I've got in swaps which may be of uncertain age and provenance
First one up today
It's a Space HJ10 Afterglow, which based on youtube reviews is an orange long cayenne type. Supposedly these Space Chilli varieties are descended from seeds taken up in to space by the Chinese, but information is hard to find and I'm not sure it's that reliable

Have moved the HHW downstairs into the kitchen. The other 3 have produced 3 seedlings 9 in total and still nothing HHW.
Day time on the kitchen window sill and then in the evenings on top of the toaster under the led lights under the cupboards so it's getting a little extra bit of light. It's only the 1st day so can't report on its movement.
It's quite exciting reading hearing other stories on their chillis etc.

Picked a load of Jalapeños tonight,as well as some more Red Manzano.. . Scrapped the plants with greenfly and sprayed down some others I want to keep...
At this stage I still have 2 Purple Jalapeños, 3 Habanero, a Lemon Drop and a Scotch Bonnet growing inside.
A number of others are still alive out in the greenhouses.I am rather neglecting those though...Last edited by Tripmeup; 15-12-2016, 10:50 PM.I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

And my over wintering ghost is doing very well, considering I butchered him ready to throw out then had a change of heart.

Today I have two Carolina Reaper seeds starting to sprout. Exciting! I've moved them from the damp tissue into Jiffy 7s so now it's a waiting game for the hooks to appear. I also have two Scotch Bonnet but one of them is a "helmet head" and I'm waiting to see whether it can get its cotyledons out. Also a couple of Aji Omnicolor (and yes, I know it's too early to sow those, but I wanted something "reliable" to keep me interested if I didn't succeed with the chinenses.) Still no more Peter Peppers germinating, only the one. That one is still at cotyledon stage, no true leaves yet, but hopefully it will start to make progress now I've got a bit of light on it.
I've got a little grow light from Ikea and will get a couple of T5 sunblasters with my Christmas money. At the moment I'm putting the seedlings on a south-facing windowsill during the day and under the grow light in the evening, leaving them dark at night.

Why are you doing it that way and not in modules/soil/in the prop?
The lidded plastic pot containing the Peter Pepper seeds is placed on the propagator base. The other seeds are in plastic bags which again are placed on the propagator base. The main reason I've got them all in damp tissue is that I'm too impatient and want to know the minute they start growing a root, not have to wait until the "hook" appears. I check them morning and night. Once I see a seed starting to sprout, I transfer that seed into a Jiffy 7, which I place into one of the propagator "pods".
It's a long-winded and inefficient way of doing things, sure, but I've only got a few seeds to check at the moment and every one that germinates feels like a minor miracle. Come January / February when I'm sowing lots at once, I might sow the seeds straight into Jiffy 7s or fill the propagator pods with seed compost and sow directly in them.
