      • Thanks Scarlet - that's the answer I was hoping for I'm going to keep a couple inside but they'll have to cope (or not) with smaller pots

        • Is two weeks too soon to expect some sign of life from my Praire Fire Chilli seeds? Not a thing showing so far.

          • I think that's a long time to be honest, I've grown them and I'm sure they didn't take too long. Though chillies do take a while. Where are they? They need constant warmth.

I find these difficult compared to others, this is the first year I've got them to germinate. Mine where sown in January in a heated prop (I think they came up after about 10/14 days) they've been cherished and babied ever since but are only about 2 inches high! Nice bushy babies but babies non the less.
I'd give them a bit longer before giving up hope.
I sow so early for 2 main reasons ( neither logical)
No1 I can't wait to start playing with seeds
No2 I need to start playing with seeds

                • Update on my chillies...royal black (I have two ) look healthy enogh and looks like it will be a bushy plant but it's not growing much.

The photo actually makes these look a little yellow but they do look much better in the flesh most of the pale yellow leaves have gone after the diluted feed given over a week ago.

                      • It's been a few years since growing chilli, (did them then over wintered managing another 2 yrs). I have sown some (not through yet) I was late sowing but even without fruit I will over winter these.
Anyway I bought (cheated) , 1 Fresno , 1 Apache. I can't remember if I pinched them out in the past or shall I just let them ramble on, they arnt tall yet and still indoors.

                        • I usually look at each plant individually, if they look like they are just growing just one stem straight up I'll pinch out, others I'll just leave to get on with it.

Very excited to spot this :

The first of my black naga fruit - ive waited just 15 months for this baby

                            • Mine only have a couple of leaves so far and the Prairie Fire are looking like definite no shows! Think I'll give it another bash and try to keep them warmer this time.

                              • Jay, if you fridge isn't fitted. The top of that gets really warm - so worth a shot there. Where have you got them?
