        • Two great plants to compare good size too. Can't wait to see how they grow!

          Is that "snail" a cayenne?

          • Yes it is a cayenne.
and all the flowers that I used PVA on all fell off.

            • Ooh, looking lovely Ms-T! Lucky you, mine are still teeny in comparison. Did you use a heated propagator to start them off?

                • My comparison photo shows that the one I hacked to pieces has produced much larger, and more sideshoots than the one I left alone.

                    • Thanks, to be honest..but without being big-headed..

All my seedlings are doing great this year, I'm pretty sure my secret weapon is... Tadpole water!

                      • Think I'm going to experiment with some of my chillis by 'hacking' some and leaving others ... gulp

Also (bows head .....) RIP Choc Hab ... poor mite struggled from the start - and on inspection today, well it had curled up its toes and left this mortal coil ...

Hmm, mine did too when I tried a couple of years ago! I would like someone to have some success with that method get some little bags?

                          • I haven't got many to "hack" and some are only 3inch or so tall yet. Will have a go though when they are a little bigger.

which one did you use the mycorrhizal fungi on.

Top marks for paying attention MS-T. But unfortunately.. neither lol
I have two trimmed one's, one will have the fungi at the next potting up and one won't..this is the trim or don't trim experiment! Haha!

They're not quite ready for the potting..

Although I have had some dramatic results with the tomatoes using the fungi.. my 'armpits' that I harvest from the mothership.. one I used fungi on, the roots have gone crazy! Totally filled the pot, from the top to the bottom in only a few days, To the point where the roots are visible right at the top of the compost, even though they were deep planted this could be a total freak occurrence but I'm convinced it's good stuff!
