I'd personally leave the plant as it is, and just provide some support when you pot it on.
It doesn't look especially leggy to me, just taller than it's buddies.
It's a naturally sprawling Aji, so to have encouraged a main stem that is both sturdy and straight at this relatively early stage in it's life is good, and should enable strong, balanced growth in subsequent years too (hint hint )
My habanero plants - Monster x2, Chocolate x1 - and which I sensibly kept indoors the last few weeks, were nonetheless covered in poxy greenfly again.
So remembering a comment from awhile back about how to rid the plants of said pest without resorting to spraying, I duly rinsed them under the shower this morning. And it worked a lot better than I expected. The leaves are a bit bedraggled but they'll recover. Greenfly totally eradicated from stems, leaves, and flower buds! So many thanks to the genius who thought to do that...
Don't want to rain on the parade Philthy, but did same few years ago and they were back not long after

It's the home environment unfortunately. The humidity or lack of, the lack of air movement, the temperature, no predators. What gets me is how they can be totally annihilated i.e. properly sprayed plants, and the area where plants are to be kept thoroughly cleaned and disinfected beforehand, and yet they still materialise from somewhere a few weeks down the line.
I find in the GH aphids are less of a problem, and outside they're barely present at all.
The shower method is good for giving instant results. And it washes some of the stickiness off the leaves too. I have no doubt they'll be back but fingers crossed it takes a little while for the numbers to build up like they were, and in the meantime the plants can grow and get more resilient to the attack. I do spray now and again but obviously you can't do so every time there's greenfly throughout the year.
Incidently, I've found the organic spray based on fish oil to be utterly useless - literally the critters continued crawling up the wetted stems and leaves moments after spraying. They were completely unaffected by it!
Have not posted here before but managed to over winter 5 chilli plants a Bhut jolokias 2 habanero and 2 plants from seeds friends bought back from India and one sweet pepper. I've had real problems with green fly and white fly in the house. The plants have been moved to a heated green house this week. I did resort to spraying them before they were moved as I didn't want to infect the whole green house. They seem to be fine now.
Dogs have masters, cats have slaves, and horses are just wonderful
I've also only had major green fly / aphid problems with plants in the house. Where do the little bu@@ers come from?
3 of my chilli's spent their first night in the tunnel last night ( fleeced ). Going to check there ok now.
Hi ya
Up date on the toped Aci Sivrl .
well there's good new growth at the top ,but not at the bottom were I took the leaves off.new growth there is very slow.
So the next one will be cut just above the y and will keep all the leaves on.
I 'm fed up with my chillies - every single one apart from my Padrons has stalled at about 3" tall... they've been like that for months after racing off to a great start under lights. Now they just seem to have 'petrified', the leaves are small and dark and hard, there's no new tender growth, and the stems are thick and knobbly. I don't know what it would take to kick start them again now, I've tried a weak feed of chilli focus a couple of times without any improvement. Anyone else experienced this?
Oh bario , I don't know . I'm no expert on chilli types . Have had most success with gusto purple in past which I overwintered twice. I hope someone can help with more knowledge.
They're 'Inferno', 'Hungarian Wax' and 'Jamaican Hot', all sown Jan 13th and grown under lights. All about 3" tall. They've been going out in the greenhouse during the day and back in the house at night. They're currently in very small pots, but they look about right considering the pathetic size of the plants! No sign of roots at the bottom or anything.
Even though they are small it may be worth potting on asize up. I repotted my lot last week and they have all put on quite a lot of growth. Maybe worth a shot? Photos would help though.

Take one out and look at the roots.i did this and was surprise how much root there was for such a small plant ,so potted it up and it started to grow again.
