  • Wow!! It's taken me an age to read this entire thread
This is my third season chilli growing and I confess . I am an addict.
Late start for me this year but given the season itself is pretty late I'm not too fussed ...tho am currently wondering how many I'm going to have to get rid of as I have far too many....and probably too many varieties. I just like growing them......the different plant habits and foliage colours and of course the fascinating display of pod shapes and colours.
I've decided to skip loads of potting on this year and what I decide to keep now...for better or for worse ...will this weekend be going into their final pots. Some are already in about 20 I think......but time for the rest :-D

      • Potted these 3 babies on Tuesday : the two on the left are Ancho then the one on the right is Twilight
These are living 'outside' in GH - I still have 2 Ancho on bedroom windowsill with lots of flowers.
(And 5 hab Orange still small but lovely looking, I think!)

I potted a few on straight into flower buckets when small. They've grown well and look as good as the ones potted on to pots the next size up as is normal.
But my plants aren't 2ft tall!

              • I would like to introduce Simon ( red pot ) and Trevor ( blue pot ) my Dorset Naga's

My two babies are growing very nicely . There's a few little flower buds just starting to appear.
Unfortunately not from seed, little plug plants from the EGS in March.

This morning I've decapitated birds eye, jalapeño, joe's long, numex piñata and two sweet peppers lamuyo & Marconi red. As the holy mole I decapitated on the 11 May is doing very well.

                • Oh, I love chillies! Where we have bought in Spain, you can't seem to buy fresh chillies for love nor money, so I am looking forward to growing my own.
I have potted up plugs plants of Topaz, Super Chilli and Cheyenne, plus a remarkably weedy Ghost Chilli that my husband has been trying to grow in Andorra for two years - when I took it on, it had no leaves, just a stem about four inches high! I've also planted seeds for Bulgarian Carrot and Cayenne.

I was very excited to see some fruit forming on my Cheyenne a few days ago; I just hope my husband has been looking after them while I've been back in Andorra for the week!

I'm looking forward to going back over this thread and reading about all the varieties you've all tried.

Going to give it a go ! Can't see it happening as they didn't harvest till November and it's to dark and cold up here by then. But it will be interesting to see what they can do.
