  • All quite slow growing plants Rob..hope you've got big windowsils ! I started off a black naga and a trinidad scorpion last year and I didn't get any fruit. They just flowered too late but they overwintered so they are plants worth keeping. This year - fingers crossed they will have crops worth waiting for. May is late to sow but ive had great success with overwintering Habs so they are good for the long haul. Have you got them indoors or the GH?

    • mine are all in the conservatory or greenhouse or polytunnel. (mix in each)

Ive one reaper from last year which has fruit now so pleased with that.

        Nice looking plants cptn.

Ok stupid question (ish) time, but I thought the direction of peppers were variety dependant. (One has peppers pointing down, the other up). Anyone noticed this on plants of the same variety?

        • Yes, I find they point up when they are young and small, as they get older and fatter they start to droop and then they eventually point down.

          • The photos aren't great but there are peppers going up and down on both plants...more up on the untrimmed though..

            • Presumably the untrimmed plant has stronger stems that will take the weight of the fruit?

              • Hello chilli experts, looking for a bit of advice. My Apache and Prairie Fire chillies are still really small but have flower buds growing on them...would it be wise to remove the flowers and hopefully the plant will grow a bit?

                • How small Jay. The prairie fires aren't that big....but I always remove the first few.
What size pots are they in? Are they ready to move up a pot?

                  Any chance of a photo?

At this point in the season, you could leave them on and give plants a good feed..As Scarlet says, a pic will help..

Looks a good list there - can you show us some photos?
Even if as you say they're small, as you had to re-sow, you'll be able to overwinter them and have them fruiting next year ....

                              • The Pretty Purple that have just flowered are very delicate looking plants .... and in comparison to say, Ancho that are HUGE -
was wondering if it's worth potting them on (or would it bother them now they're in flower..?)
or are they just a small type of plant ........ ?

The tallest is approx 7" ......
