Yes, that's Edema. Too much watering. How often are you watering and where are you keeping them? Let the pot dry out fully before watering.

Apparently they can cope with lower temperatures so I might try to over winter ( now there's a slippery slope I said I would never go down again )
The "Capsicum Pubescens are known as "tree chillies" do you know anything more about it? I'm growing the mexican red manzano. They all have slightly furry leaves and have purple flower/black seeds. They are supposed to cope with lower temps but I don't believe they can cope with our winters outside in a poly/GH. Perhaps a small dip ocassionally but not prolonged cold. I know Chris said he was keeping his in the GH overwinter, I presume it died.
They will however overwinter indoors in the house very easily. They grow huge! The mexican manzano grow Apple sized fruits...I posted some pics of mine earlier in the thread. I'll take a photo of my new plant that's in the GH later.

Other half acquired the chilli's while I was away. So Apparently my little tree chilli is a rocoto from Peru.
He is definitely a hairy little fella I think my two latest additions are getting re potted today

              • so if people are keeping multiple chilli types in the same room, how do you make sure there pure to what they should be?

I don't want to bag up the flowers to stop pollen going from one plant to another...

You only need to worry if you intend saving seed from them. In that case isolation of plants is needed..
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

                  ...utterly nutterly

                    • bagging the amount I have will be a nightmare lol.....

Ill move similar types into areas and try my best to sort the hotter ones.

Ive a good few Reaper chillies growing now on my older plant

You just put a small bag over the top/end of a branch. Covering a just a few flowers. When you see that the fruit has formed on a few you take the bag away and let them carry on ripening. Mark each fruit by securing string/thread around the stem with a piece of cotton/thread. Some of my plants are huge. I can't move them on my own. There are usually enough seeds in a few pods to go around.

                          )
I think minimum distance of unbagged flowers is 50ft.

                          • 50ft isn't gonna work for me, but didn't think to just bag a few like that, that's a really good idea and doable. thank you

                            • I'm having trouble with bagging. None of the bagged flowers are setting fruit. Do you hand pollinat once bagged flowers have opened? I'm trying that now if that doesn't work I may have to bow out of the chilli seed circle .

95% of none bagged fruits are setting.

                              • Ive just did that yesterday SP! My tri colour are fine but the nagas keep dropping off. Bag them until they open, take the bag offf, pollinate with a clean paintbrush, cotton bud and re bag. Fingers crossed.

I'm also going to try the glue method again!

Rob, ive used some old tights to cover the top of a stem (you may have some in the bottom of your sock drawer ) or you can use those little wedding favour bags.
