Chillies - what are you growing/overwintering?

Haha, I just wing it! Philthy is the pro . They look brilliant Deano. I'd just wait a few more weeks till early March, pot on into some black flower buckets or similar. I would only prune back just the dead looking branches if you have any otherwise I wouldn't bother. Though I think i can see some very ripe chillies on one of them? If so, take them off.

Ive had hit and miss with me overwintering

One variety that has done well is sweet aji from real seeds, its a chilli without the heat, it seemed to have very very good cold tolerance, the secret for me seems to be to get them indoors before they show signs of cold stress.

This has been in my conservatory, I cut it back hard, trimmed the roots, repotted it in fresh compost and put in some granular feed, I dont water much, just once a week or so

I that what you do, cut the roots? I'll be potting my pepper plant on soon and wasn't sure if it was safe to cut the roots.

You can prune the roots prior to overwintering Scoot., this is usually done when pruning back in the Autumn. I wouldn't bother trimming them now.

That looks really healthy Maverick...did it go dormant at all? Or is that new green growth?

I had to trim the roots because it was in a 20l pot and I could only really deal with a 3l pot indooors

No its never been dormant, its always look green and healthy that plant, really easy, would recommend it!

I must admit Scoot I've only ever tried trimming the roots once. I don't bother these days, some chillies over winter well others just die for no reason.

Maverick, I have the best of luck with lemon drop /which is also an Aji. I've just had a look on Real Seeds....must not give in to temptation!

I'll just repot it as it is then. In a couple of weeks at the start of March. Hopefully I get a good crop off it this year with it being it's second year.

The Black Naga is doing fine Scarlet.
Scorpion, ten pot and the other Black Naga ( planted 2 weeks later ) still a no show,
Not holding out much hope for the first two now tbh, you never know though.

What a shame Just keep them in there for a bit longer, they often take longer than you expect.

Yes ill give them as long as i can , their in the heated prop on a sunny windowsill so still hoping.
Trouble is i go into hospital next tuesday ( hopefully) so ill just have to hope the wife remebers to keep checking them
Cant wait to get in and out so i can sow my toms, there againi may sow a few on the monday
