  • Watching a different video online, they advocate removing all but the top three leaves as well as the growing tip..now that did look brutal..

                • Just google your chilli name and anywhere selling those seeds should say what 'type' of chilli it is - there are a few 'types', Anuum and Chinense are the only ones i can remember offhand.

                  the 'type' will be preceded by the word 'Capsicum'

                      • The old cayenne is annuum and so are Hungarin hot wax, and Aci sivri
                        and the Fiercracker is a Hybrid.did'nt know that.

                            I'm pretty sure Habanero are from the chinense family. Did you look on the Internet or look on the seed packet. I wouldn't prune a habanero as shown in the video, they are very slow growing and you would be taking many weeks worth of growth out.
                            If a plant looks like it's branching of its own accord I don't bother pinching out. The plants that grow tall with no side shoots get nipped.
