  • I have never hacked first yr only after I've overwintered , each yr after the produce was better.

    • My overwintered Jalapeno has several small fruits on it
My overwintered Big Sun Habanero has one small fruit on it that hasn't grown in the last fortnight but at least it hasn't fallen off

Now have small plants of varying size from most of my growing list. Some of them may have gone in to the greenhouse too soon, and may not all survive, but I had run out of space indoors. Maybe they will go to the big greenhouse in the sky along with Susie's choc hab.

No success with Fatalii, zero germination, which has been my main disappointment. Could be old seeds, but I've read elsewhere that they can be difficult to germinate. Anyone ever had success with them? I was going to buy some fresh seeds from SDCF, but they were out of stock.

          • I grew some fatali a few years back Chris. I can't remember how long they took but I managed to overwinter two the following year. If you really want to have some it might be worth trying a couple now with the view to just getting it through winter for an early crop next year? I have on previous occasions set lemon drops going late just to get an early spring crop the following year. You just need some space indoors.

Scarlet, yes, that's what I was thinking, and I was going to get some fresh seeds from SDCF, but they're out of stock. What did your Fataliis taste like?

If anyone reading has any spare Fataili seeds, let me know and I'll be happy to offer you a choice of seeds in return.

Yes, but much as I'm tempted if I buy from Nicky's, I'll end up buying loads of different varieties that I don't need at this time of year to justify the p&p.
The advantage of SDCF for a one-off purchase is that they're unusual in not charging p&p.

I'll have to look up a few of those. The aji fantasy white sounds interesting.
