You can get it in Boots, although it's sold primarily as a 'relief for occasional constipation'
Epsom Salts 200g | Magnesium Sulphate | Epsom salt powder - Boots
It's recommended to be sprayed onto leaves of young plants fortnightly (2 teaspoons in a litre of water roughly). I used to do this, but so long as the compost is decent and refreshed in good time I find it isn't necessary to spray as often.
No, the real benefit is when it's used as a soil additive as suggested previously. As Scarlet says, it prevents yellowing and helps maintain healthy leaves. Yes there is a percentage of magnesium and other minerals in tomato feed, but they're usually in trace amounts. When you consider a chilli plant in full flow could produce 200+ fruits, it'll exhaust it's nutrient supply pretty quickly unless you're topping it up regularly.

Went in the GH this morning before setting off for work, looks like the hot lot are getting ready to start producing flowers.
My Peruvian Lemon Drop looks like it might of filled the pot its in as I noticed a white root just poking out the bottom, might be time to repot into a CFB with plenty of charge added to the compost together with perlite.
Noticed that they all are starting to get bushier with loads of side shoots showing, so just for Susie I'm tempted to say I'll be trimming my bush when its gets too overgrown lol. I'll be taking pictures later. The day that Microsoft makes something that doesn't suck ...
... is the day they make vacuum cleaners

My chillies are getting close to being In need of repotting, before I just used compost should I be adding perlite or grit to the compost and some chicken poop or bfb etc if so what sort of ratios should I be using
I add BFB to the final pot size for the year. I go with a level teaspoon, distributed under the rootball and around the sides as you're backfilling the new pot. A level teaspoon to a single final pot seems about right to me given that the recommended application rate over a 1m sq. area is roughly two handfuls.
I wouldn't know about the chicken manure as I personally don't use it.Last edited by Philthy; 11-06-2016, 12:57 PM.
