    • I grew some of those upward pointing little yellow chillis last summer, collected seed and overwintered the plant.

Although I cut the plant back in spring and have removed the earliest flowers and embryo fruit, the plant looks pathetic and is just sitting there looking yellow. I even repotted it but it is still not happy.

At the same time, I sowed the seeds in February and have a whole tray of vigorous, dark green healthy chilli plants. Many of which have already set fruit.

What have I done wrong or is there little point in overwintering some varieties?

I'm surprised, the difficult part is often getting them through the winter. I would pot it on, slightly bigger pot and some diluted tomato feed as Ms T has suggested.

                    • My Apache and Prairie Fire seem to have decided not to grow anymore...still in small pots, do you think if I repotted them into larger pots it may encourage them a bit?

Will you be using heated prop to start them off? Then expect you'll overwinter them so they fruit next year....?

I always follow the "rules" pot on only when the roots hit the bottom of the pot and into the next size up. This year I watched a YouTube video (it's in this thread somewhere ) where they were potting up small plants into their final big pots with some chicken manure pellets mixed in. I tried it with one plant, I really wish I'd tried it with several, it's grown so well.
