First batch of Nantes Frubund Fastcrop have now germinated (sown a week ago). This could be because they were sitting next to a radiator!

My first pot will be sown this weekend - with the weather I'm not convinced they'll do much but we'll see!

First batch sown Beta 111 in a large pot in my blow away. No idea what these look like but it says medium sized. I have enough to sew another pot later in the month. Will sow another variety next week.

                Carrots away!

The weather here has taken a turn, it seems winter has turned up after all.
I think that the carrot seeds I sowed (in the unheated and draughty greenhouse) will therefore be very slow to germinate.

So I have decided to sow a second bucket of the same variety and this time follow Penellype's example; covering the pot with a plastic bag and keeping it indoors somewhere warm.

last year was the first real success with carrots by growing from seed to harvest under enviromesh, like the sound of flower tubs that can be moved around so I'll be joining you in the weekly challenge.

Been too busy to do much at the allotment this week....and the weather has been yuck.....but I'll be there tomorrow as on early shift (5.30am - 8.30am) then got rest of day off

Got a few things to do in the greenhouse so will start off a bucket in there Got another variety of carrot ( Nantes 5 - think I grew that one last year) in my magazine today so that's four types so far. Think I need some different-coloured varieties as a novelty
If I'm not on the Grapevine I can usually be found here!....https://www.thecomfreypatch.co.uk/

Hopefully next week if the weather turns mild I'll be able to start some carrots off in one of my growhouses I plan.on putting up, weather permitting.

Sowed the first outdoor tub of Marion today - this is a cold tolerant "all year round" variety. Even so I covered the pot with a plastic cloche after sowing as it is forecast to be cold tonight.

Finally managed to get hold of some flower buckets (stripy ones - I'm dead chuffed they're pretty!!) - 16 so should get me plenty of carrots! Unfortunately it is freezing and pretty wet here so I haven't sown any yet. Gonna sow a bucket indoors as soon as OH drills me some holes
