I wouldn't worry about only 4 days over a whole month even if they're in a row. A few summers ago I was away Mon to Thurs every week for about 6 months and it was no big issue as I still had weekends to keep on top of the weeding and plant anything out. Had a couple of willing helpers who kept on top of harvesting in exchange for some veggies. Unless you're growing in pots then you really don't need to water anything outside.

To the OP, I once went away for all of June, it wasn't ideal but things were fine.m set up some auto watering systems and went away. Very little died but I think I had the advantage hat everything was planted out by then. May is harder as its too early to plant out squashes and beans before you go. I'd probably risk some but have seeds left for resowing if necessary when I got back. Think my biggest problem was tidying up my cordon tomatoes which had gone a bit feral over the month

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Thank you! I'm going to Costa Rica. Can't wait! x

        Hi Sally, (Sadly...!)
Congrats on your marriage - yes the veg etc is a bit of a worry, but you must enjoy your long-awaited honeymoon - there'll be time to start more things off when you get back ...
Anyway, it's all a challenge, and when things do come right, what a buzz!!
So relax, enjoy, there's always next year ....
