I'm hoping for at least 1 glut this year - all being well I'll have 22 strawberry plants so hoping for a strawberry glut at least!!I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

The only thing that was anywhere near to a glut was my self-seeded corn salad which colonised my annuals border as a thick ground cover in autumn and over winter. 2014 was my best ever tomato year and then it's as if the tomato gods decided that was going too far, as 2015 was my worst with leggy, poorly cropping plants. Since I have more space this year and a lot more sun on the plot than in my garden, I guess more gluts are possible.

I had what other people might consider gluts of courgettes and strawberries as there's just me to feed, but I love both and managed not to get sick of either. I'm hoping for a more balanced level of food production this year - I ended up with a lot of bare ground due to not timing things right last year. Also despite my approx. 15 tomato plants I somehow didn't have a tomato glut, just enough to make a few small batches of sauce that soon got polished off.
Although I do still have 2 large bags of green tomatoes in the freezer. Does anyone have a green tomato recipe that isn't a chutney??

The usual runner beans and marrows. I went on holiday for two weeks fully expecting everything to be dead when I got back but there must have been the perfect combination of sun and rain whilst I was gone and the garden was a jungle on my return.
The two tiny half inch long courgettes that had been there when I left had turned into marrows so big I had to carry them into the house one at a time
I'm now swimming in chutney....
