Potato question please

I could not help myself buying another couple of kilos of seed potatoes a couple of days ago, but because they have been left to chit in the dark, they look like this.....

ok will have to send the photo from the phone, does not seem to want to work

I am mostly worried about the dark parts, looks like it has died. Shall i rub them off and start again or will they happily get on with it in the ground, all the other are great and never had this problem before.

Make that 3 votes for bung em in. Be a little careful with the white chits they break of easier than dark ones.

Bung 'em in. If the dark bits are dead the potatoes will grow again from the tubers, if they are not dead they will grow from the shoots. If anything looks mouldy or mushy rub off those shoots, but otherwise they should be fine.

Look okay to me - bung 'em in and see what happens

I'll often find the odd potato or six with long sprouting shoots in the cupboard so I just stick them in the polytunnel soil which is warmer than outside. Got a nice early crop of Maris Peer last year and just planted another 8 on January 31st.....how I manage to miss these guys in the cupboard I'll never know!

i bought some heritage potatoes caled violletta they did the same planted them today in tubs and put them in the greenhouse see how they go ile let you al know how the go on

forgot to say planting some red emmalie tomorrow theyve done the same

they seem ok, its just the fact they have dried and gone back at the tips, but the plan is to put them in hopefully today
