Bare root strawberry plants

Just got back from a two week holiday, and found that my
plants, delivery date "March", arrived a week ago without
any instructions. As its down to minus two at night around here,
I would be grateful for any advice on whether to plant them,
store them or whatever.

Strawberry plants are tough plants. They will easily cope with sub zero temperatures. However where have they been for the last two weeks? If it was somewhere warm they may have started into premature growth and this will be tender. I think I would give them a good soak and pot them on and put in a cold greenhouse or cold frame for a few weeks, with a view to planting out mid March. They don't need heat and don't want to be indoors.
If you can't put then somewhere sheltered but outside I think you'll have to plant them out, perhaps with a bit of fleece for protection.

They were sitting in my kitchen, brought in off the step by my house sitter, so
I will take your advice and plant them.
