That's weird. I was going to Start exactly the same thread the other day about my garlic in pots that I planted in the autumn. I was going to ask if I should put some bfb on them.
Last time I grew garlic in 8" deep planters I was advised to treat them pretty much as onions, keep weed free, high nitrogen to start with followed by a 7-7-7 fertiliser later in the year.
I think I was also told to stop feeding in May, someone will clarify.

I grew them in a few deep washing up bowls last year and did not feed them at all - being a bit dense it did not occur to me - I am just about to starting using my last bulb now.
