  • Pepper plants: how tall?

How big should pepper plants grow? Mine are fruiting but are only about 6 or 7 inches high. Should they be bigger?

I think it really depends on the environment. As long as you're not doing anything wrong, that should be the appropriate height.

Depends on the variety of plant, I have some that are a couple of foot high and some much smaller.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Mine are everything from 8" to 18" - but they're all doing great peppers, so I don't think it matters.

Mine have been swamped by greenfly and what I presume is whitefly, tiny white dashes stuck to all the leaves. I tried spraying with soapy water and that didn't work and I resorted to washing the leaves with a soft brush and warm soapy water and that didn't work, as fast as I cleaned 'em off, they replenished themselves. Try again next year.

Size of pepper plants depends on variety and size of pot. If you keep them in small pots they will fruit earlier, but won't produce so many fruits. The little white specks Terrier is talking about are greenfly "seed cases" not the proper term I know, but I can't think what else to call them.
