Had an email to say there's damage at our site so that's where I'm off to after lunch.

Sorry if any of the plotters on here have suffered storm damage, not nice to happen to you.

Just looked out at my back garden and the 3 weak fence panels are still there that I need to replace. The 8ft greenhouse is ok as its in a sheltered corner of the garden.

Going to nervously go down the plot after lunch to do some work on it and see that everything's ok, not got a shed or greenhouse there as I want all the plot to be used for growing stuff. As our allotments are sheltered I wouldn't expect much damage to of happened and we seemed to of not had such windy conditions in the midlands as you had in the south.

I feel so sorry for you all who are suffering with storm Katie. Greenhouses and plants are replaceable but loved ones are not. Mother nature can be so harsh but oh so gentle too.

Yes, what a night. I thought the windows were going to be sucked out at one stage! We haven't had winds like that since the hurricane.
These violent storms are getting more and more frequent.

Changing weather, its going to be a great challenge.
Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.

Oh no! I didn't realise the storm's were that bad last night. I hope everyone is ok.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

I couldn't imagine an allotment without a shed and the amount of stuff I can grow in my tunnel, particularly in the cooler months when nothing much us happening outdoors, makes it worth twice that space outdoors . Does make me glad that I was able to buy an industrial quality tunnel though (an unexpected bonus from work) as it'll stand any storms, thankfully we didn't get this one but we had more than our fair share earlier in the year so know it's not nice. I have friends in Cumbria still not able to go home since Christmas. Really hate these extremes of weather we're getting and unfortunately it'll get worse.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Sorry for the damage. Wind is so horrible sometimes.

Sorry about the damage Mark, hope you can salvage something from it! We've lucky here for a change, Katie didn't reach us at all. Keep safe everyone.

Been over and checked the plot, all is OK on mine, some of the cheap green PT's haven't faired too well for other plot holders. I am sure we will rally round and get things sorted

I finished putting my new polycarb greenhouse up on Saturday.

Couldn't make it down to the plot for the last two days, and I'd been kind of dreading it. My Mum got a polycarb greenhouse once, and put it up the day before the hurricane of '87. We found bits if it (well, I didn't, I was more concerned about my paddling pool that also blew away, which tells you how old I was). I've been wary of them since.

Luckily for me, it looks like my site was sheltered from the worst, and apart from my bee fence blowing down again it all looks OK. Sorry to hear others weren't so lucky.

Not too bad on my plot. Managed round most things up, just missing my water butt lid and a compost bin door. The greenhouses up there have bent frames and panels blown out.

Oh Mark, so sorry for you, it must be soul destroying.
See what you can salvage over the next few days.
