It's a set back, for sure, and definitely demoralising when you've put in the time and effort up to this point. I'd concentrate on the positives, Mark; the things that are fixable, and that the season is yet to get underway proper. You now know where your site is most vulnerable to wind; are there any steps you can take now to ensure you're better protected for the next event? You at least have the space and means to make that assessment. (Not ideal of course). Imagine the result if this storm had hit two months from now.
Things were pretty hairy down in Brighton last night. Some gusts were pretty ferocious. I had a load of salvaged window panes stacked up ready for the next project and of course they all got blown over so broken glass everywhere. Side gate will need re-hanging. Neighbour lost some fence. Usual assortment of bins spread up and down the road. Could've been worse...
