There was a review of tomato feeds in another gardening magazine. Unfortunately your one wasn't one they trialled! Interestingly the difference between yields on best and worst was nearly three times! I must admit to preferring a liquid feed as I find them easier to mix than powders.

I've used G4 premium tomato food by vitax,it has trace minerals including magnesium & seaweed, very good liquid feed but different to this vitax feed.

I don't have the issue at hand but I recall T&M's Chempak performing really well and being quite cheap (something like 1 kg for £10 + p&p, 2 tsp per 10 L mix rate). It is a powdered 'mix with water' type which isn't everyone's cup of tea. Was going to give it a go this year as I would prefer not to have to take bottles of liquid feed to the allotment and then the empties back home to recycle.

It's q4 not g4 sorry,I think it was about £4.99 but that's a guess,I bought it a year ago. There's similar ones available that include seaweed etc.

Im sure I recall the chempak coming on top on a trial I read but it sounds like the Q4 stuff Is also very good.

Im not sure about others but i always start off with a higher nitrogen or balanced 7:7:7 feed to encourage strong green growth and then switch to a high potash feed when the fruiting starts.

T&M currently offering 3 for 2 on their chempak feeds
Posted on an iPad so apologies for any randomly auto-corrected gobbledegook

Just been reading about nettle feed and it seems it has magnesium in it.

Stinging Nettle Fertilizer | Five Gallon Ideas

This should stop my plants getting a magnesium deficiency. And save me buying more tomato feed.

It has other benefits as well.
